(Dan Tri) – The progress of Long Thanh airport runway is shortened by 3 months compared to the contract, and can be technically exploited on the occasion of the April 30, 2025 anniversary.
According to the report of Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), the runway project of Long Thanh airport will be shortened by 3 months and can be technically exploited before April 30, 2025.
“Technical exploitation” means that the runway is fully equipped with aviation signal information equipment and can deploy calibration flights with specialized aircraft.
In recent times, the airport system including runways, taxiways, and aprons of Long Thanh airport has been actively deployed by the contractor with more than 2.000 personnel, more than 500 machines, and 50 construction teams on the field. The construction volume to date has reached 42,23% of the contract value.
The runway section has been deployed to the cement concrete layer, expected to be completed and technically exploited before 30/4 next year.
For the passenger terminal, the contractor has completed the reinforced concrete structure of all 5 floors, is installing the steel frame for the roof system and building walls on the floors. The passenger terminal is expected to complete the construction part in December 2025, test run and complete the whole thing before August 31, 2026.
Regarding the two connecting routes, route 2 is expected to be completed in the month November 2025; the intersection between route 1 and Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway will be completed in the month August 2025; the intersection between route 1 and Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway will be completed in the month October 2025 and the entire route will be completed in the month December 2025.
