In the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), as the spring atmosphere begins to permeate every street in Quang Ngai city, a flower field located next to the Phu My urban area unexpectedly becomes a popular stop for many locals and tourists.
Spanning approximately 2 hectares, the flower field is arranged like an open garden, where many species of flowers display their beauty in interwoven patches of color.
Sunflowers stretch towards the sun, rapeseed flowers dye the small paths yellow, and dahlias, heather, and petunias add splashes of soft color.
The meticulously cared-for flowerbeds bloom simultaneously, creating a vibrant tapestry that stretches across the urban landscape.
In the afternoon, when the sun was less intense, groups of young people, families with small children, and even elderly people strolled leisurely among the flowerbeds. Laughter and conversation mingled with the clicking of cameras, capturing these peaceful moments at the end of the year.
For many, this is not just a place to "check-in" but also a space to breathe in the spring air, relax with a cup of coffee, and admire the flowers in the early days of the new year.
The highlight is the buckwheat flower field behind a large rock. Two white horses are positioned along the small path, creating a scene reminiscent of Northwest Vietnam, where the buckwheat flower has become an iconic symbol.
In the heart of Quang Ngai city, that image evokes a feeling that is both familiar and strange, like a slice of distant land brought closer to the people of Central Vietnam.

As Tet (Lunar New Year) approaches, the flower fields attract more and more visitors, not only young people, but also many families bringing their grandparents and children to take photos and stroll through the flower gardens. The buckwheat fields are the most popular spot.
"It's so beautiful! You don't need to go to Northwest Vietnam to take pictures with buckwheat flowers. Cities should have more destinations like this during Tet," said Ms. Hoai Vi (Cam Thanh ward).
The vast flower fields, with their diverse layouts, allow visitors to easily choose their own unique spots for taking photos without worrying about overlapping. Services such as renting traditional Vietnamese dresses and photography are also available for everyone to choose from.
Mr. Phan Anh, the owner of the flower field, shared that his desire to create more community space during Tet (Lunar New Year) led him to plant and care for the flowers starting in October 2025.
"We expect the flower field to not only be a short-term photo spot but gradually become a green space where people can come to stroll and relax. In the future, if conditions permit, we will expand the area along the banks of the Bau Giang River to increase the connection between the urban area and the natural space," Mr. Anh shared.
Amidst the ever-changing urban life, the Phu My flower fields stand as a tranquil haven. There, the vibrant colors of the flowers not only provide stunning photographs but also evoke a sense of peace in many. A gentle start to the arrival of spring in Quang Ngai province.
