Observations by Tuoi Tre Online on Tran Quang Dieu fashion street in Nhieu Loc ward, Ho Chi Minh City (formerly District 3) during the weekend showed a bustling shopping atmosphere lasting from morning to night.
At its peak in the early evening, the street was packed with people constantly pouring in. Parking lots in front of the shops quickly became full. Along both sides of the street, rows of local brand stores and shoe shops lit up, staff constantly advising customers, processing payments, and customers coming and going non-stop.

Mai Anh (25 years old, residing in Nhieu Loc ward) said that with her busy end-of-year work schedule, and only having this weekend before returning to her hometown, she took the opportunity to go shopping with friends and choose a few basic outfits.
"I usually buy online for convenience, but for Tet (Lunar New Year), I still prefer to go to the store to choose things in person for peace of mind. It's the only time of year I get to meet relatives and friends, so I want to be presentable," Mai Anh shared.
Meanwhile, Ý Nhi excitedly showed off her newly acquired ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress) for only 100,000 VND. The price was significantly lower than online sales, prompting her to buy it immediately without hesitation.
"Buying Tet clothes in person is still better; you can try them on, check the fabric quality and colors, and strolling through crowded streets feels more like Tet," said Ý Nhi.

An employee at a fashion shop on the street said that the number of customers in the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year) increased two to three times compared to normal days. From morning to night, the store had to mobilize all its staff to serve customers.
"We've been busy almost non-stop since this morning. Customers have been coming in constantly, mostly looking for clothes to wear during Tet (Lunar New Year). This time, the shop is also having a sale on many items, including new arrivals with slight discounts to make it easier for customers to choose," this person said.
Not only Tran Quang Dieu Street, but many other fashion streets such as Cach Mang Thang Tam, Le Van Sy, Nguyen Trai… are also bustling with shoppers and a constant flow of customers.
Besides launching new models, many stores are simultaneously implementing deep discounts of 50% to 80%, along with fixed-price items at 88,000 - 199,000 VND to clear inventory before Tet.
Many places set up discount racks in front of their doors, spread out tarpaulins, hang clearance signs, and pile up clothes for customers to choose from. Signs like "all items 99,000 VND," "shirts from only 100,000 VND," or "sale up to 70%" are hung side by side, attracting ever-increasing crowds and making the fashion street increasingly bustling in the final days of the year.
