Dang Doan Sang recently had a memorable trip to see the cherry blossoms.

With just 3 million VND for a 2-day, 1-night trip, Mr. Dang Doan Sang (32 years old, from Hanoi ) had a memorable journey in Ha Giang (formerly, now part of Tuyen Quang), where he encountered rows of cherry blossom trees in full bloom.

Sang and many other tourists shared the feeling of being transported to the vibrant, colorful landscapes of Japan.

This area has steps leading up to it, making it even more convenient for visitors to take photos.

Sang said that the cherry blossoms in the former Ha Giang area are at their most beautiful right now. He decided to plan a 2-day, 1-night trip to see them.

The male tourist chose a sleeper bus as his mode of transportation. The bus departed from My Dinh bus station (Hanoi) and arrived at Ha Giang 1 ward in approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes.

From Ha Giang bus station, he continued his journey by shared 7-seater vehicle to Dong Van commune, which took about 3 hours. The total travel time was approximately 7 hours and 30 minutes.

"Compared to my visit to Ha Giang in 2023, the roads are much more convenient now, saving me almost two hours," Sang shared.

After arriving in Dong Van commune, the male tourist rented a motorbike and traveled for another 30 minutes to reach the Lung Cu Border Guard Post area, also located in Lung Cu commune. This is also the location where he took the cherry blossom photos that went viral on social media.

According to Sang, the most beautiful cherry blossom viewing spot he visited was right in front of the Lung Cu Border Guard Post. This area is about 12km from the center of Dong Van commune and also about 12km from Lo Lo Chai Cultural Village, making it very convenient to combine visits in one itinerary.

“This place is quite beautiful. In particular, the officers at the border guard station are very friendly and always facilitate tourists to take photos and check in comfortably in front of the station gate. I was truly overwhelmed because I didn't think Ha Giang would have such ancient cherry blossom trees with wide canopies, blooming so profusely and heavily laden with flowers,” Sang said.

The scene left the male tourist speechless.

The flowering trees were planted in rows in front of the police station gate, creating a flower-filled pathway that exuded a romantic, cinematic beauty, reminding him of the flower-filled streets in Korea or Japan.

Sang arrived around 3 PM, when the sun was still shining beautifully. The sunlight filtered through the delicate pink blossoms, making the scene even more enchanting. He loved the place so much that he returned the next morning to take more photos.

"In the early morning, when the mist has just cleared, the scenery takes on a hazy, tranquil beauty, giving the feeling of being transported to a paradise," he shared.

The tiny, pretty flowers bloomed in abundance.

The vibrant pink of the cherry blossoms brightens up the streets. Just standing under the cherry blossom trees, male tourists can instantly capture beautiful photos.

According to this tourist, the total cost of his trip to Ha Giang was approximately 3 million VND, including bus fare, shared ride, motorbike rental, accommodation, food, and sightseeing fees.

Regarding cuisine , Mr. Sang was particularly impressed with the black chicken hotpot cooked with mustard greens in the Old Town of Dong Van. He also enjoyed trying the bitter-tasting but highly nutritious au tau porridge.

Upon returning to Ha Giang 1 ward, he also stopped to enjoy Zhen Dong beef hotpot at the food street. "The beef was fresh, the meat was tender and melted in my mouth, the broth was sweet, and eating it in the cold weather of Ha Giang made me remember this trip forever," he said.

Tourists felt as if they were in Japan.

For Sang, 3 million VND is a reasonable cost for a short trip that offers many special experiences.

Based on his own experience, Sang also shared some locations for viewing and photographing cherry blossoms for tourists to refer to, avoiding the crowds at the border guard station during peak hours.

Clusters of flowers appear and disappear against the backdrop of clouds, mountains, and forests.

"Tourists can find the area behind the Dong Van bus station, next to the Dong Van Ethnic Boarding School for Secondary and High School students, or at the foot of the road leading to Lo Lo Chai village... These spots also have beautiful flowers in bloom and are less crowded," he suggested.

Transportation: If traveling in a group, tourists can travel by car to beautiful cherry blossom viewing spots such as: Lung Cu Border Guard Post, Lo Lo Chai Village, the Hmong King's Mansion, behind the Dong Van bus station…

If traveling in a small group, tourists can rent motorbikes to get around and better experience the atmosphere of this northernmost region of Vietnam.

Note: The cherry blossom season lasts from January to March.

The weather in the far North is often cold, windy, or foggy, so visitors should prepare warm clothing.
