In addition, the Department has released more than 444 wild animals of various types into the natural environment, most of which are birds. When released, they were all healthy and qualified to live in the natural environment.
Previously, through patrolling and inspecting wildlife trading points, the Department drew up administrative fines for the owners of the establishments and individuals trading, and confiscated hundreds of birds of various species.
Since the beginning of 2023, the Department has coordinated with relevant sectors to strengthen propaganda and mobilization to raise awareness and sense of responsibility of cadres and people in the area about protecting forest plants and animals, especially endangered, precious and rare species; inspect, detect, prevent and handle many cases of illegal transportation and captivity of wild animals, at the same time mobilize people not to arbitrarily go into the forest to hunt, prevent the situation of hunting, trapping, capturing, trading and consuming birds and wild animals, contributing to protecting the ecological environment and biodiversity.
The province currently has 184 facilities that breed wild animals for commercial purposes. According to recommendations, people should not arbitrarily release wild animals, but should hand them over to the Forestry Department to release them to places with natural living conditions suitable to the characteristics of each wild animal, contributing to preserving the values of natural resources, increasing biodiversity for forests, especially protecting endangered wild animals.
