That was the direction of Party Central Committee member, Provincial Party Secretary, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Le Quang Tung at the working session with the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Committee on the progress of site clearance for the Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway project through Quang Tri province this afternoon, January 10. Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung; Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong; Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission Le Thi Lan Huong; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Tien attended the meeting.

The Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway project through the province includes 9 resettlement areas in Vinh Linh, Gio Linh, Cam Lo districts (3 resettlement areas in each district). The scale of the resettlement areas has been approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Document No. 6226/UBND-KT dated December 5, 2022 and the Technical Economic Report has been approved since June 2023. There are a total of 351 households that must be resettled, and 28/351 households in Cam Lo district have been relocated.
Currently, the site clearance work on the route has been completed for 27.57/32.53 km, reaching 84.8%; the clean site has been handed over for 23.77/32.53 km, reaching 73.1%. During the implementation process, the Provincial People's Committee has resolutely directed, urged, organized many meetings, and inspected the site to remove obstacles and speed up the preparation and construction progress, but up to now, the construction progress of local resettlement areas is still slow.
Representatives of localities and units have proposed difficulties and obstacles affecting the handover of clean land, resettlement land prices, house construction on agricultural land, temporary residence while waiting for the construction of resettlement areas, affected households in the road safety corridor, and clearance work for the expressway section through the factory location of Quang Tri Forestry Products Joint Stock Company...

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung said that the Provincial People's Committee is determined to direct relevant sectors and 3 districts to speed up the progress of the work, especially the construction of resettlement areas for handover in the first quarter of 2024.
Regarding people's recommendations related to compensation levels, the Provincial People's Committee's viewpoint is to implement them with the motto of creating consensus among the people and ensuring harmony between the interests of the State and the people.
Concluding the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Le Quang Tung affirmed: The Van Ninh - Cam Lo Expressway component project under the North-South Expressway project in the Eastern phase 2021-2025 is a national key project, the work of site clearance through Quang Tri is strongly directed by the province. However, the current implementation progress has not met the set requirements.
With the existing problems and obstacles that have been pointed out, the Provincial Party Secretary requested the Provincial People's Committee, sectors and localities to consider the tasks related to the project as the top priority in their tasks, and to realize that this is an important political task of the entire term.
Emphasizing that the results of this project are the basis for reporting to the Government and relevant ministries and branches on the implementation plan of other key transport projects in the province, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Le Quang Tung requested the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Committee to closely and urgently direct the problems that are being encountered. Relevant departments, branches and localities should strengthen coordination smoothly and effectively, determined to complete the handover of land to implement the project.
