Hao, from Heilongjiang province, has about 100,000 followers online and is known for his beauty and fashion content. According to social media shares, about 20% of his body contains hyaluronic acid - a natural compound that lubricates joints and keeps skin moist. He said he is aiming to inject a total of 10,000 doses, and is about 40% done.

A few months earlier, Hao had made headlines when he spent the same amount of money to inject 40 doses of acid into his shoulders, collarbone, chest and abdomen, to create fake abs. Details of the procedure have not been revealed, but he said he sought this method because he could not achieve his ideal body shape through regular exercise.
He also affirmed that if his abs remained the same after three years, he would submit an application to Guinness for recognition as “ the world's strongest artificial hyaluronic acid abs” and promised to live stream “cracking walnuts on his stomach” to prove its hardness.
However, medical experts warn that this action poses serious risks. Dr. Li Jialun, from the Department of Plastic Surgery, Union Hospital (part of Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan), said that injecting such a large amount of acid is “very dangerous”.
“Injecting 40 doses of hyaluronic acid can cause blood vessel necrosis and destroy the skin structure,” Li said. “When the body moves, these ‘fake muscles’ will distort because the acid cannot stretch like real muscles. Moreover, the filler can also erode bone and compress muscles, causing natural muscles to weaken. When the acid dissolves, the body part can look sunken and flabby.”
