The Military Command of Huong Do commune organized a sports competition to conclude the training day. |
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tran Hien, Commander of the Huong Do Commune Military Command, who was present to monitor and direct the militia training, said: “Along with thoroughly understanding and strictly implementing orders, principles, and coordination in training, the method of dividing into smaller groups and focusing on multiple exercises is always given utmost attention by the Commune Military Command during the training of militia forces, especially first-year soldiers. Huong Do commune is unique because it was established on the basis of merging three communes: Huong Do, Huong Tra, and Loc Yen, so the number of first-year soldiers is relatively large. To implement the motto of dividing into smaller groups and focusing on multiple exercises, the officers are mobilized to the maximum extent to guide and assist the soldiers, while also utilizing training grounds, models, and teaching aids to improve the quality of training.”
Observing the drill and marching practice of Squad 1, Platoon 1, we found that the method of breaking down the exercises into smaller parts and practicing frequently was truly effective. The squad was divided into four groups for practice, each with an officer supervising, conducting segmented practice, slowly practicing each basic movement. After everyone had mastered the basic movements, each member of the group took turns as group leader, while the officer observed and corrected each person's practice.
According to Major Ho Bach Thoa, Deputy Commander of the Military Command of Huong Do commune, the application of the method of breaking down training into smaller parts and practicing more has fostered the initiative and creativity of each soldier in training, while also effectively complementing each other. As a result, soldiers grasp the training content faster than in previous years.
To improve the quality of training, in addition to strengthening the staff responsible for monitoring and directing local areas, the Huong Do Commune Military Command has organized training courses for officers; held training competitions, political teaching demonstrations, and model and training aid competitions. Along with that, the Commune Military Command has prepared sufficient models, training aids, and training grounds to ensure the best possible conditions for breaking down training into smaller, more intensive exercises. For example, previously, training in the process of packaging explosives typically required only one set of materials at the platoon level, but now, a platoon needs at least three sets of materials to meet the requirements of breaking down training into smaller, more intensive exercises.
At the AK rifle shooting training area for Squad 4, Platoon 2, we clearly saw the effectiveness of the method of dividing into smaller groups and practicing more. The squad was divided into three locations to practice different exercises: Group 1 practiced aiming at target number 4; Group 2 aimed at the red-marked target; and Group 3 practiced trigger control. With this method, all officers and soldiers participated in the training.
Captain Mai Quoc Cuong, Assistant to the Military Command of Huong Do Commune, who holds the position of Platoon Leader of Platoon 2, first-year militia soldier training framework, shared: “By breaking down the training into smaller parts and practicing frequently, officers and soldiers do not waste time, avoid doing personal things, and all participate in supplementary training. Thanks to this, the results of the inspections, end-of-day training competitions, and several unit subjects always achieve high results.”
