Dong Viet Bridge is about 2.4 km downstream from Dong Viet ferry terminal, one end connects Canh Thuy ward, Bac Ninh province, the other end is Tran Hung Dao ward, Hai Phong city. The bridge started construction in June 2022, with a total investment of nearly 1,500 billion VND, and will be open to traffic on the entire route in early July 2025.
The highlight of the bridge is the two striking orange cable-stayed spans, mounted on two tower branches intertwined like two arms, symbolizing cooperation and friendship.
The bridge railing is made of steel and is more than a meter high.
The two sides of the cable-stayed pillars are equipped with high-power LED lights to illuminate at night.
The approach road to the bridge is built to the scale of a grade II plain road, nearly 7 km long, with a 22 m wide roadbed and 21.5 m road surface.
The road leading to Tran Hung Dao ward, Hai Phong city has 6 lanes connecting to National Highway 37, with high-pressure lights and trees in the middle.
Signage on bridges and approaches has been installed.
Drainage ditches are made in the middle, along both sides of the road.
Currently, there are few vehicles crossing the bridge, mainly container trucks carrying goods serving the two industrial, urban and service zones of Duc Giang and Dong Phuc.
The project is expected to promote the circulation of goods, develop tourism , and attract investors to industrial parks and clusters in Bac Ninh province, Hai Phong city, and neighboring provinces.
The approach road on the Canh Thuy ward side, Bac Ninh province, runs through a large field with a hard median strip in the middle. Some sections are being equipped with guardrails on both sides.
