Russia's TASS news agency cited information from the Gaza Strip, saying the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has just announced an airstrike targeting the headquarters of the Islamic Jihad organization in the Gaza Strip.

The attack targeted the Al-Aqsa Hospital compound in the Deir el-Balah area, which the Israeli military said was the group’s headquarters. The Israeli Air Force used precision-guided weapons to minimize civilian casualties.

Earlier on March 31, an Israeli fighter jet intercepted a "suspicious aerial target" flying from Syria towards Israeli airspace.

While Tel Aviv is preparing for a military operation against the city of Rafah, tens of thousands of Israelis are protesting in many cities to demand that the government rescue all hostages in the Gaza Strip and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu resign.

People took to the streets in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Caesarea, Raanana and Herzliya in one of the largest demonstrations since the war in the Gaza Strip began nearly six months ago. Protesters demanded the government release all hostages being held in the Strip.

On Kaplan Street in Tel Aviv, crowds called for immediate general elections. Police tried to push back protesters at Begin Gate, one of the entrances to the Kirya military headquarters in the city.

"No one leaves! We will march to Jerusalem and stay there until the government is dissolved," a protester's banner read.

During a protest at Hostage Square in Tel Aviv, survivors of Hamas kidnappings called on the Israeli government to immediately return all remaining hostages home.

In Jerusalem, about 200 people broke through police barriers to protest near Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's residence.

"Prime Minister Netanyahu, after you abandoned my family on October 7, 2023, and after 176 days of not reaching an agreement to return the hostages, and continuously sabotaging the agreement, I realize that you are the one who is hindering the agreement. From now on, we will work to have you removed. That is the fastest way to reach an agreement. We will continue to protest and demand your resignation," a protester emphasized.

In the coastal city of Caesarea, protesters circumvented police lines to march toward the Israeli prime minister's home, blocking the road and chanting "No forgiveness for failure and abandonment." Police arrested several protesters in Caesarea.

In the cities of Sderot, Or Akiva, and Beersheba, protesters called Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu an "obstacle to the deal" to release the hostages and demanded his resignation.

Police said 16 protesters were arrested in Tel Aviv for disrupting traffic and blocking streets. Large numbers of protesters disrupted public order by setting fires, knocking down police lines, blocking traffic and scuffling with law enforcement.

Police used water cannons to disperse protesters on the Ayalon Highway in Tel Aviv and arrested several protesters. Some protesters stood in front of the cannons and shouted "We will not give up until things get better".

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly declared that he will continue the war in the Gaza Strip, despite pressure from the international community. He affirmed that the primary goal of the war is to rescue all hostages and completely eliminate the Hamas movement.

The Israeli Prime Minister stressed that Tel Aviv needs "a few more weeks" to achieve victory in the Gaza Strip. He reaffirmed his determination to advance on the city of Rafah, considered the last Hamas stronghold in the strip.
