With just a fake video from AI and a few newly created Facebook pages, scammers can create a "dream world of making money". This is not a new trick, but it is constantly being covered with technology to deceive users. Behind those sweet promises are still debts, tears and traps of losing everything.
Faking VTV content; Using AI to create images of celebrities; Posting on a series of newly created Facebook pages with the same purpose: luring viewers to join "selling with Amazon"... there have been victims who have fallen into the trap of these tricks.
One victim said that at first, the subjects instructed her to set up a "store", then continuously created small orders for the victim to sell and receive money as promised. It was the "receiving real money" in the first stage that made her more confident. But when asked to handle larger orders - worth tens of millions of dong - the woman began to have doubts and decided to stop.
"I started to stop. I told him why I couldn't withdraw the money from the order now that it was paid, but he said my order was closed. Now that I want to get the money back, I have to deal with taxes because I worked for less than 3 months. This tax is just nominal and they will disburse it back to me later. He said there was a similar case before," the victim said.
The "similar case" that the subjects presented was actually just a decoy.
"I just processed my taxes" - this message was sent from an account that also claimed to be a participant in the exchange - was the final blow that made her completely trust.
She did not hesitate to transfer tens of millions of dong to pay the so-called "tax", hoping that once the payment was completed, all the money would be disbursed back. But of course, that was just the victim's hope. In reality, she lost 200 million dong.

In Ho Chi Minh City, the trick of "selling with Amazon" has appeared - an old trick but still makes many people fall into the trap.
Mr. Vo Do Thang - Director of Athena Cyber Security Center recommends: "Do not care about how many likes a page has, but care about how long the page has been established. For example, if a page has only been established for a few months, it is not safe..."
The trick is not new, but residents in Di An ward, Ho Chi Minh City said that dozens of people around them were scammed by this trick. Some lost tens, hundreds of millions, some even billions of dong.
From the desire to earn more income to pay off the debt of more than 60 million VND, now the debt of the victim has increased many times. The tears that fell were even heavier than the amount of money she had just lost.
