The government has changed the schedule for releasing some important statistical information from the central statistics agency.
The Government issued Decree No. 13/2026/ND-CP dated January 13, 2026, amending and supplementing a number of articles and appendices of Decree No. 62/2024/ND-CP dated June 7, 2024, of the Government amending and supplementing a number of articles and appendices of Decree No. 94/2016/ND-CP dated July 1, 2016, of the Government detailing and guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Statistics and Decree No. 94/2022/ND-CP dated November 7, 2022, of the Government stipulating the content of statistical indicators belonging to the national statistical indicator system and the process of compiling indicators of gross domestic product and indicators of gross domestic product in provinces and centrally-administered cities.
Changes to the schedule will release some important statistics.
In Decree No. 13/2026/ND-CP, the Government changed the schedule for disseminating some important statistical information from the central statistical agency compared to Decree No. 62/2024/ND-CP dated June 7, 2024, specifically as follows:
Official consumer price index (CPI) figures are released on the 3rd of the month following the reporting month (according to Decree No. 62/2024/ND-CP, this is the 6th of the month following the reporting month).
Estimated figures for the proportion of trained workers with common degrees and certificates are compiled on the 3rd of the month following the reporting quarter (according to Decree No. 62/2024/ND-CP, this is the 6th of the month following the reporting month).
Preliminary data on the proportion of trained workers with common degrees and certificates is available as of the 3rd day of the first month of the second quarter following the reporting quarter (according to Decree No. 62/2024/ND-CP, this is the 6th day of the first month of the second quarter following the reporting quarter).
Estimated unemployment rates are typically recorded on the 3rd of the month following the reporting quarter (according to Decree No. 62/2024/ND-CP, this is the 6th of the month following the reporting quarter).
Preliminary figures for the unemployment rate are typically released on the 3rd day of the first month of the second quarter following the reporting quarter (as stipulated in Decree No. 62/2024/ND-CP, this is on the 6th day of the first month of the second quarter following the reporting quarter).
Monthly, quarterly (Q1, Q2, and 6-month), quarterly (Q3, Q9, Q4, and annual) socio -economic reports are typically published on the 3rd of the month following the reporting period (according to Decree No. 62/2024/ND-CP, this is on the 6th of the month following the reporting period).
Changes to the release schedule of GDP and GRDP figures.
Decree No. 13/2026/ND-CP also moves the GDP and GRDP data release schedule forward compared to Decree No. 62/2024/ND-CP.
Accordingly, the release date for GDP figures has been changed from the 6th of the month following the reporting period to the 3rd of the month following the reporting period. Specifically, the GDP figures will be released as follows:
Estimated figures for Q1; preliminary figures for Q4 of the year preceding the reporting year: April 3rd of the reporting year;
Estimated figures for Q2, 6 months, and the first full-year estimate; preliminary Q1 figures: July 3rd of the reporting year;
Estimated figures for Q3 and 9 months; preliminary figures for Q2 and 6 months: October 3rd of the reporting year;
Estimated figures for the fourth quarter and the second full-year estimate; preliminary figures for the third quarter and the first nine months: January 3rd of the year following the reporting year;
Preliminary full-year figures: October 3rd of the year following the reporting year;
Official figures for the full year and quarter of the reporting year: October 3rd of the second year following the reporting year.
The date for releasing GRDP figures has also been changed from the 1st of the month following the reporting period to the 29th of the last month of the reporting period. Specifically, the GRDP figures are released as follows:
a) Estimated figures for the first quarter; preliminary figures for the fourth quarter of the year preceding the reporting year: March 29th of the reporting year;
b) Estimated figures for Q2, 6 months, and the first estimate for the whole year; preliminary for Q1: June 29th of the reporting year;
c) Estimated figures for Q3 and 9 months; preliminary figures for Q2 and 6 months: September 29th of the reporting year;
d) Estimated figures for Q4 and Q2 (second round) for the whole year; preliminary figures for Q3 and the first nine months: November 29th of the reporting year;
d) Preliminary data for the entire year: as of September 29th of the year following the reporting year;
e) Official figures for the full year and quarter of the reporting year: September 29th of the second year following the reporting year.
These changes aim to ensure the timely collection and compilation of statistical information to serve Party and Government agencies, the Prime Minister , and all levels of government in management and administration.
This Decree shall take effect from April 10, 2026.
