Entertainment platforms, social networks, and mass media are overwhelming academic and in-depth creations... The main reason is that the fields of literature and art are lacking works with deep ideas, capable of reflecting the stature of the country's innovation and integration.
According to some artists, today’s works of art are not only evaluated based on the quality of their content but also their ability to affect the emotions of the audience. Many highly appreciated products may not be large in scale but are unique in their expressive style, touching the emotions of the majority. On the other hand, many social value systems have also changed, making creativity in the fields of literature and art difficult.
In addition, the heavy administrative censorship mechanism and the formalistic orientation of artistic values are also shortcomings for this special type of spiritual creativity. Policies for investment, creation, dissemination, and promotion of works do not really prioritize creations with social value...
Meanwhile, theoretical and critical work has not yet played its guiding role, and has not been able to promptly discover and support new talents. The criteria for evaluating works of art are outdated and have not adapted to changes in the contemporary context...
Faced with the constant movement of cultural and artistic life, the role of State policy becomes extremely important. The State needs to establish a system of policies for the development of literature and art, creating more favorable conditions for creative activities and the dissemination of works.
In addition, artists need to put the public at the center of the creative process. Literary and artistic products need to be designed and developed to suit modern reception needs, while contributing to improving the level of art appreciation and social aesthetic orientation.
Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW dated June 16, 2008 of the Politburo on continuing to build and develop literature and art in the new period affirmed: Literature and art are very important and especially delicate fields of culture; are essential needs, expressing the human aspiration for truth, goodness and beauty; are one of the great driving forces directly contributing to building the spiritual foundation of society and the comprehensive development of the Vietnamese people.
On June 21, 2024, the Politburo issued Conclusion No. 84-KL/TW on continuing to implement Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW dated June 16, 2008 of the Politburo on continuing to build and develop literature and art in the new period, which clearly stated the requirement to promote the core role of artists and writers participating in building and protecting national culture, literature and art, for the comprehensive development of Vietnamese culture and people.
To realize the aspiration to create literary and artistic works of high ideological and artistic value, the team of artists in their creative work needs to demonstrate professional artistry, delve into the country's realities to find information, enrich their works, and bring valuable messages to the recipients. It is necessary to build a dynamic creative ecosystem, innovate policy thinking, create a favorable cultural environment, and encourage diversity in artistic experimentation.
In addition, it is necessary to soon develop a Strategy for the development of literature and arts in conjunction with the Strategy for the development of Vietnam's cultural industries to 2030, with a vision to 2045, contributing to removing "bottlenecks" in the formation of works of stature.
