The vibrant colors of the flowers create a lively spring atmosphere, awakening the bustling rhythm of work in the final days of the year. At the same time, this rhythm of work also embodies the thoughts and hopes of those who make a living buying and selling flowers and ornamental plants.

POURING HEART AND SOUL INTO EVERY PETAL OF THE FLOWER
From the 23rd day of the Lunar New Year, the Spring Flower Market in Dao Thanh Ward and My Tra Ward of the province, and spring flower markets in communes and wards throughout the province, are adorned with a new, vibrant coat of colors, featuring a variety of flowers such as yellow, purple, and pink chrysanthemums; marigolds; shimmering yellow apricot blossoms; bright red cockscomb… along with pots of apricot blossoms, frangipani, and colorful bougainvillea, all vying to show off their beauty, creating a fresh and vibrant spring scene.
In that vibrant space, unconcerned by the cold morning dew and the scorching sun of the year-end days, flower and plant vendors diligently and meticulously care for each flower and leaf. Some rearrange the pots neatly, others water them to keep them fresh, and adjust their shapes so that each potted plant displays its full beauty to the customers.
The pace of work at the flower markets is bustling and lively. Despite the hard work, the eyes of each worker, gardener, and vendor reflect hope, as the Tet flower season is the result of months or even a year of investment and cultivation by their families. It also represents the dream and expectation of a complete and warm Tet celebration.

At the Spring Flower Market in Dao Thanh ward, the atmosphere of buying and selling flowers and ornamental plants is vibrant and bustling. Many small traders and gardeners are busy tending to and arranging their flowers and plants to make them as eye-catching as possible. Sitting amidst rows of pots laden with apricot blossoms, Mr. Doan Van Hien (61 years old), a resident of Vinh Thanh commune, Vinh Long province, who has been involved in the flower and ornamental plant trading business for many years, meticulously adjusts the shape and arranges them in appropriate positions to make the apricot blossom pots even more beautiful in the eyes of visitors.
Mr. Hien shared: “This year, I brought more than 300 pots of apricot blossoms and colorful bougainvillea to the Spring Flower Market. To have beautiful apricot blossom pots with large, abundant, and evenly colored fruits, I have to cultivate, adjust the timing, fertilize, and water them very meticulously. These potted plants are not just simply goods to sell, but also contain so much effort and dedication from my family.”
"I hope these potted apricot trees will add color and fragrance to the spring season, bringing good luck to everyone in the new year. Selling flowers and ornamental plants at the market is hard work, but going to the flower market is a joy; I feel very sad if I don't go every year. I hope everyone will support me and buy quickly so I can return home soon to celebrate Tet with my family."

According to Ms. Pham Tran Huong Dao (46 years old), residing in Hamlet 1, Trung An Ward, who has been involved in growing apricot blossoms for over 10 years: “I brought more than 50 apricot blossom pots shaped like bonsai to the Spring Flower Market. This year, there were times when it rained, and my family was very worried that the buds wouldn't bloom evenly. However, thanks to experience and meticulous care, the apricot blossom pots this year have very even and beautiful buds. I hope they will be well-received and supported by the community.”
The atmosphere of buying and selling flowers and ornamental plants at the My Tra Ward Spring Flower Market is equally vibrant. Ms. Thai Thi Cam Nhung (47 years old), residing in Tinh Long hamlet, Cao Lanh ward, is waiting for a truckload of chrysanthemum plants from her garden to be brought to the market for sale, hoping to earn extra income for her family during Tet.
Ms. Cam Nhung shared: "My family runs a garden, and this Tet holiday I'm buying over 500 pots of chrysanthemums and bougainvillea from a nursery in Sa Dec ward to resell. These are pre-ordered items, so they're carefully selected; only the most beautiful pots are available for people to buy and display during Tet."

Meanwhile, at Tan Nghia market (My Ngai ward), despite being located near a rural area, the atmosphere of buying and selling flowers and ornamental plants remains bustling these days. Many types of flowers and plants such as marigolds, chrysanthemums, cockscomb, and apricot blossoms attract a large number of people to choose and buy.
Mr. Tran Van Thang (residing in Hamlet 4, Phong My Commune) happily shared: “Today, I brought about 200 marigold plants, grown by my family, to the market. Since this morning, people have been quick to support us, so we've almost sold them all. Growing flowers is hard work; you have to water and care for them every day. However, this year my family is very happy because the flowers we grew are well-received by the community, who are buying them to decorate for Tet (Lunar New Year).”
According to many gardeners and flower and ornamental plant vendors at flower markets and along rural roads in the province, producing beautiful potted flowers for consumers requires not only hard work but also dedication and months of tireless effort from the growers. A sudden change in weather or a slight oversight in care can cause the flowers to bloom out of season, failing to showcase their beauty for Tet (Lunar New Year).

Wishing you a warm and joyful Lunar New Year!
As Tet (Lunar New Year) approaches, the atmosphere at the spring flower markets in the central wards of the province, as well as in the communes and wards, becomes increasingly lively. Streams of people flock to admire the colorful flowers and choose them to decorate their homes for the spring festivities.
Behind the dazzling beauty of countless flowers and ornamental plants lies the image of ordinary, hardworking people quietly eking out a living, spending dozens of days sleeping in the cold dew and sitting under the scorching sun to care for and sell each potted plant. This image creates a unique beauty of labor in the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), contributing to a vibrant picture of the working life at the end of the year.
Each truckload of flowers and ornamental plants arriving at the market represents not only the culmination of hard work and sweat but also the belief and hope for a prosperous business season and a fulfilling, joyful Tet holiday for each family.
On the morning of the 27th day of the Lunar New Year, despite having spent seven consecutive days enduring the dew and sun while selling flowers at the Spring Flower Market in My Tra ward, Mr. Vo Van Le (64 years old), residing in Tan Lap hamlet, Sa Dec ward, still had a radiant smile on his face as he greeted customers.
Mr. Le confided: "This spring, I'm bringing over 500 baskets of apricot blossoms and marigolds to the market. This is the result of a year-long effort in preparation, planting, and caring for the flowers, so I have high hopes for this flower season. Selling flowers during Tet is extremely hard work; for more than half a month, we 'eat on the streets and sleep outdoors,' enduring the sun and dew. We sell them while also carefully tending to each pot so they'll be even more vibrant the next day."
"This job is tough, but going to the Tet market is also fun. Seeing the bustling buying and selling makes me feel more cheerful than I do in my old age. Every year going to the market brings new hopes, but the biggest hope is to sell all the goods quickly, earn a little extra profit, and be able to go home in time for New Year's Eve, so that my family can have a more prosperous Tet holiday."

Pham Thanh Cong (44 years old), residing in Tan Thuan Binh hamlet, Cho Gao commune, has been involved in the business of buying and selling chrysanthemum flowers for Tet (Lunar New Year) for many years. Cong shared: “This year, I brought tall, conical-shaped Dutch chrysanthemum pots with beautiful yellow flowers to the Dao Thanh ward Spring Flower Market. This job is very hard; when it rains, you have to stay awake to protect them, because if rainwater gets in, the flowers will all bloom. When it's scorching hot, you have to worry about watering them. The most stressful thing is when it's almost peak time at the market and there are still many pots left. Every time I sell a pot, I feel so happy, it means my family has more hope for a prosperous Tet.”
According to many vendors, the prices of flowers and ornamental plants this year are quite diverse, ranging from tens of thousands of dong to hundreds of thousands of dong, with some pots costing tens of millions of dong, suitable for various needs of the people. The abundant supply makes it easy for people to choose, contributing to adding more spring colors to each family's home during Tet.

As evening falls, the flower and ornamental plant markets become even more crowded. Many people, dressed in new clothes, stroll through the markets, taking photos to capture the beautiful moments amidst the vibrant colors of the flowers. Amidst this crowd, flower and ornamental plant vendors continue to work diligently at their stalls, trying to sell their produce and hoping to earn a little extra profit to celebrate Tet (Lunar New Year) with their families.
