On Lãnh Binh Thăng street (Ho Chi Minh City), the atmosphere of buying and selling Tet flowers is bustling with buyers and sellers.
According to Tuoi Tre Online 's observations on February 14th, the 27th day of the 12th lunar month, at many Tet flower selling points in Ho Chi Minh City, purchasing power has begun to pick up, and the atmosphere has become more lively as Tet approaches.
At the spring flower markets in 23 September Park, Le Van Tam Park, and Gia Dinh Park, hundreds of stalls stretch along the walkways, offering a variety of yellow apricot blossoms, peach blossoms, kumquats, chrysanthemums, and pompom chrysanthemums…
The space, overflowing with colorful flowers, attracts large crowds of people who come to visit, shop, and take photos. Many walkways are packed with visitors, especially in the mornings.
This year, the flower markets feature many stalls, mainly from nurseries in Tien Giang, Ben Tre , and other provinces in the Mekong Delta. The Tet flower market is quite diverse; in addition to the traditional yellow apricot blossoms, there are also phalaenopsis orchids, bougainvillea, cockscomb flowers, etc., catering to various customer segments.

Crowds of people flocked to the spring flower market, with many families browsing and choosing flowers to decorate their homes for Tet (Lunar New Year).
Ms. Mai Huong (a resident of Nhieu Loc ward) said that every year her family buys a pot of apricot blossoms and a few pots of chrysanthemums to place in front of their house. According to her, strolling through the flower market is not only about shopping but also a way to bring the Tet atmosphere home.
"Even though I have to be more mindful of my spending this year, I still try to have a small potted apricot blossom tree to create a spring atmosphere," Ms. Huong shared.
On flower-selling streets like Lãnh Binh Thăng (formerly District 11), the atmosphere is just as bustling. Many families take the opportunity to stroll through the market, choosing their favorite flower pots to display during Tet, enjoying the approaching Tet atmosphere while shopping.
However, a small business owner from Vinh Long said that purchasing power this year is still slower than in previous years, and the best-selling items are mainly affordable flowers.
She said that in the current difficult economic climate, sellers can no longer maintain high prices as before. What she hopes for most is to sell all her goods before New Year's Eve, earning a profit from her hard work to have extra money to cover the expenses of the Lunar New Year for her family.

Marigolds cost an average of 150,000 - 180,000 VND per pot.

The potted apricot blossom tree was purchased by a customer for 1.8 million VND.

The bonsai apricot tree is being sold for 2.3 million VND.

Chrysanthemums cost over 200,000 VND per pot.
In Binh Dong ward (formerly District 8), the newly opened Binh Dien spring flower market also attracts hundreds of gardeners from the Western provinces, mostly from the Cho Lach flower region (Ben Tre), bringing all kinds of flowers to the city to serve the needs of Tet celebrations.
A notable feature of this flower market is that prices are kept much lower than elsewhere because the growers are completely exempt from stall rental fees. As a result, a large number of customers arrive early to buy flowers.
Among them, the most popular are the mini apricot blossom trees, priced from just 100,000 VND per tree, with larger ones costing around 150,000 VND. According to a small trader from Cho Lach, the accessible price makes mini apricot blossom trees attractive to many customers, fitting within the budgets of many families.

Hundreds of stalls are spread across a large area next to the Binh Dien wholesale market, bringing together many gardeners from the Mekong Delta, especially from the Cho Lach flower growing region (Ben Tre).
In the higher price segment, bonsai-shaped apricot blossom trees, as tall as an adult, are sold for 1 million VND or more. Gardeners say that the price of apricot blossoms this year has not increased compared to last year, and has even decreased slightly to make it easier for people to buy them.
A representative from Saigon Trading Company Limited (SATRA) stated that the Binh Dien Spring Flower Market 2026 will be held on an area of approximately 12,000m², next to the Binh Dien wholesale market, and will last until 12 noon on February 16th (the 29th day of the 12th lunar month) with a total of 282 stalls.
This also marks the 12th consecutive year that the organization has implemented a policy of waiving stall rental fees for farmers, only collecting minimal fees for electricity, water, and sanitation. This policy helps reduce the financial burden on flower growers and demonstrates the organization's commitment to preserving traditional Tet customs.

The golden hues of chrysanthemums and the vibrant red of cockscomb flowers, combined with the crowds of shoppers, create a lively springtime scene.

Customers carefully consider each potted apricot blossom tree before deciding to make a purchase.

People are busy buying Tet flowers, preparing for the upcoming season of family reunion.
