Cho Ray Hospital has just officially put into operation the 3.0 Tesla SIGNA Premier magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system, marking a breakthrough in imaging technology in the Southern region. This is the first MRI system of the most advanced generation currently deployed here, with the ability to capture images twice as fast as previous models.

According to Mr. Bui Van Pham, Chief Medical Technician of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging, Cho Ray Hospital, the rapid imaging technology of the 3.0 Tesla MRI machine helps to significantly shorten the procedure time, from 15-20 minutes to only 7-10 minutes. This not only reduces waiting time but also helps patients reduce the feeling of anxiety and fatigue when having to lie still in the device.

The highlight of this system is the integration of a comprehensive artificial intelligence (AI) platform. The AIR Recon DL platform uses deep learning technology to reconstruct images, not only reducing noise but also increasing image resolution by up to 60%, providing high accuracy in diagnosis.

In particular, the MRI 3.0 Tesla SIGNA Premier also applies Sonic DL technology, a breakthrough that allows the heart to be photographed in just one heartbeat, up to 12 times faster than conventional methods. This significantly improves the ability to diagnose complex cardiovascular diseases, which require high accuracy and speed.

The system also supports advanced applications in neurological diagnosis, with the ability to examine nerve fiber bundles in detail, helping to detect even very small lesions, accurately assessing damage caused by stroke or neurodegenerative diseases.

The device is equipped with a new generation AIR Coil receiver with a lightweight, flexible design that easily hugs the body, along with a 146-channel independent signal reception system, helping to capture clear images and minimize noise.

In case of needing to use contrast agents, the machine is equipped with an externally controlled injection device, with parameters such as drug volume and injection pressure set by the technician via the control system, ensuring automatic and accurate injection process.

Images from the MRI machine are transmitted rapidly to the technician's computer and then to the doctor's computer via the electronic medical record system.

Patients will receive MRI scans immediately after the scan is completed, helping doctors quickly come up with treatment plans and patients receive timely care, reducing anxiety and costs.

The 3.0 Tesla SIGNA Premier MRI system has been operating continuously for 13-15 hours a day since November 3, serving about 30 patients. To meet the increasing demand for medical examination and treatment, Cho Ray Hospital is rushing to install another similar system this year.
