On the afternoon of May 15th, the Industry and Trade Newspaper, in collaboration with the Import-Export Department ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ), organized the ceremony to announce Vietnam Logistics Day and Vietnam Logistics Week.
Previously, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 1065/QD-BCT dated May 6, 2026, recognizing Vietnam Logistics Day and Vietnam Logistics Week. Accordingly, May 6th each year is recognized as Vietnam Logistics Day, and the week containing May 6th each year is recognized as Vietnam Logistics Week.
The decision was issued based on the implementation of the Vietnam Logistics Service Development Strategy for the period 2025-2035, with a vision to 2050, and also reflects the orientation to develop logistics into an important service industry with high added value, linked to enhancing national competitiveness and international economic integration.

From 2026 onwards, May 6th will be officially recognized as Vietnam Logistics Day, and the week of this day will be Vietnam Logistics Week.
According to the Decision, the annual organization of Vietnam Logistics Day and Vietnam Logistics Week aims to raise awareness of the important position and role of logistics services in socio-economic development, international integration, and enhancing national competitiveness. At the same time, it promotes the effective implementation of policies and laws on the development of Vietnam's logistics services, focusing on digital transformation, green logistics, and sustainable development.
In addition, the event aims to strengthen international cooperation, promote trade activities, attract investment in logistics infrastructure and technology; connect Vietnamese logistics with the region and the world , and contribute to promoting Vietnam's image as a dynamic and efficient logistics service center.
One of the key objectives of the event is to honor, encourage, and inspire the business community and workers in the logistics industry to continue striving for innovation, applying high technology, improving the quality of human resources and competitiveness, and meeting the requirements of integration in the new era. It also acknowledges the contributions of the logistics industry to the country's economic development.
“Over the years, Vietnam’s logistics industry has experienced strong growth, gradually affirming its role as the ‘lifeblood’ of the economy, contributing to boosting production, goods circulation, and enhancing the country’s import and export capabilities. Logistics is now not just a support service but has become an important service industry, directly impacting the competitiveness of businesses and the national supply chain,” said Mr. Nguyen Khac Le, Deputy Secretary General of the Vietnam Logistics Services Business Association.
Activities during Vietnam Logistics Day and Vietnam Logistics Week will include promoting, networking, fostering cooperation, and disseminating knowledge about logistics; creating a forum for state management agencies, industry associations, logistics businesses, manufacturing and import/export businesses, and localities to strengthen policy dialogue, promote investment, and expand business cooperation.
Also at this afternoon's event, the Ministry of Industry and Trade simultaneously announced the plan to organize the "Vietnam Industry, Trade, and Service Awards Ceremony".
This is a national award aimed at selecting outstanding businesses with excellent achievements in the fields of industry, trade, and services; thereby affirming the pioneering role of businesses in promoting economic growth, developing production, expanding markets, and enhancing national competitiveness.

According to Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan, the award has practical significance in discovering, honoring, and promoting outstanding businesses, thereby fostering innovation, improving product quality, and building Vietnamese brands in the context of increasingly fierce global competition.
In total, the awards will select 30 outstanding businesses and 100 exemplary businesses that have made significant contributions to the industrial, commercial, and service sectors. Selection criteria will not only focus on size or revenue but also on innovation, technology application, digital transformation, green development, and the ability to meet international integration standards.
