On November 4, Mr. Dang Hoang Tuan, Director of Long An Department of Transport, said that the Ring Road 3 project through Long An has reached more than 51% progress, basically completing the milestones as required by the Government.
Currently, the investor has set a deadline for completing the project items to open the technical traffic by the end of December 2025. By January 24, 2025 (before the Lunar New Year holiday), the weak soil will be treated and the roadbed will be completed. By October 31, 2025, the crushed stone and asphalt pavement will be completed.
The contractor is constructing the My Yen intersection turning bridge under the Ring Road 3 project through Long An.
For the river overpass and expressway overpass, by February 28, 2025 (one month after Lunar New Year), the abutments, piers and 70% of the bridge girders will be completed.
By August 30, 2025, complete the installation of beams and pour concrete on the bridge deck. By October 31, 2025, complete the asphalt pavement on the bridge deck and the railing system. By December 31, 2025, complete the route and open it to technical traffic.
According to Mr. Tuan, to control the project progress, every week, the investor and the leaders of the Department of Transport meet with contractors to review each stage and item of the project to promptly handle any problems that may arise. Every month, there is a report to the Ministry of Transport , the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, and the People's Committee of Long An province on the project progress.
Currently, at the project, contractors are speeding up the construction to complete the service road, the highway section has completed the sand loading, and is pumping vacuum to treat the weak ground, expected to be completed in December 2024.
For the river overpass and expressway overpass, 2/2 abutments, 2/2 pillars, and 1/3 of the Rach Rich overpass's girder installation have been completed. Meanwhile, Tan Buu bridge has completed 2/2 abutments, 25/34 pillars, 11/35 spans (88/280 girders), and 3/35 spans have been concreted.
Along with that, the My Yen intersection connecting Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway has completed construction of 2/2 abutments, 5/5 pillars, installed girders of 6/6 bridge spans, and poured concrete for the bridge deck of 3/6 overpass spans.
Turning bridge, completed 224/272m (6/8 spans) of box girder, 180/544m of concrete guardrail. The remaining connecting branch roads in the intersection have completed construction of 3,055/3,523m of roadbed sand and 700/3,523m of crushed stone.
The Beltway 3 project through Long An has been allocated capital of more than 1,107 billion VND (in 2023, more than 338 billion VND, in 2024, more than 768 billion VND). Of the allocated capital, more than 970/1,107 billion VND has been disbursed to date.
The Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project is a national key project, with a total length of nearly 76km in phase 1 passing through Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Binh Duong and Long An with a total investment of more than 75,000 billion VND. The section passing through Long An is 6.84km long, and is currently progressing the most positively among the localities where the route passes.
