Poet Nguyen Quang Thieu has just updated his health status after being involved in a traffic accident. He is being monitored and further examined by doctors. It is expected that in the next ten days, his health condition will be more stable so that he can move on to the active recovery phase.
" Lying quietly in the hospital and being given a special medicine, my health recovered like magic. This medicine is called: greetings from friends", poet Nguyen Quang Thieu shared emotionally.
He said that since the news of the accident was shared, many friends, colleagues and fans have texted and called to ask about and send words of encouragement. Since his health does not allow him to reply to each person individually, he wrote a general thank you to send to everyone who cared.
Earlier, on the afternoon of May 21, poet Nguyen Quang Thieu drove his wife to work, unfortunately his car collided with a shipper. ''I woke up in the hospital and was informed that I had a broken collarbone, three broken ribs, and dozens of stitches on my head, but my brain was fine,'' poet Nguyen Quang Thieu recounted.
After the collision, he did not experience any dangerous symptoms such as fever, headache or nausea. However, because the wound on his head required many stitches, his hair was shaved to facilitate treatment.
He wrote short stories, essays, stage and film scripts, and hundreds of articles, memoirs, and notes bearing his personal stamp. His works have been translated and published in many international literary magazines.
Most recently, he released the epic poem Slaughterhouse - a work that continues to affirm a distinct voice in modern poetry, with a strong expressive style and profound philosophical reflection.
He is currently the Chairman of the Vietnam Writers Association and is also one of the representative faces of the generation of contemporary artists who are both deeply national and integrated with the flow of world literature.
