Amidst the chilly weather at the end of the year, in the central streets of Ba Dinh ward, sanitation workers are still diligently collecting waste. The amount of household waste during Tet (Lunar New Year) is many times greater than usual, requiring a higher intensity of work and longer working hours. While many families are gathering around the New Year's Eve feast, waiting for the New Year, these sanitation workers temporarily set aside the joy of reunion, quietly contributing to keeping the streets clean and beautiful.
Sharing his thoughts with the workers on duty on New Year's Eve, the Chairman of the Hanoi City Federation of Labor, Nguyen Van Thang, expressed his appreciation for the sense of responsibility, dedication, and persistent efforts of the workers.
He emphasized that these silent sacrifices have significantly contributed to creating a civilized, clean, and beautiful appearance for the capital city during the New Year's transition, allowing every citizen to welcome the spring in a clean and complete environment.
Showing concern for the working conditions and lives of the workers, the Chairman of the Hanoi City Federation of Labor acknowledged the efforts of the Ba Dinh Enterprise in particular and all employees of the Hanoi Urban Environment Company Limited in general to overcome difficulties. Not only did they fulfill their regular duties, but the environmental workers also proactively implemented plans to increase manpower and equipment, ensuring timely garbage collection and transportation during the peak Tet holiday period.
On behalf of the Hanoi City Federation of Labor, Comrade Nguyen Van Thang presented 20 gifts, each worth 1 million VND, to workers who were directly working on the night of the 29th of Tet (Lunar New Year's Eve). These bright red envelopes, handed directly to the workers amidst the anticipation of New Year's Eve, were a profound source of encouragement and demonstrated the practical concern of the Trade Union organization for its members and workers.
Receiving gifts and warm New Year wishes from the leaders of the City Labor Union, many workers were moved and shared that this timely attention gave them added motivation to complete their tasks: "We will only go home to celebrate Tet with our families after cleaning up all the trash and making the streets clean."
