President Luong Cuong hosted a state reception for the King of Brunei.

President Luong Cuong believes that with the goodwill and efforts of both sides, the Vietnam-Brunei Comprehensive Partnership will develop further.

On the evening of December 1, at the International Convention Center, President Luong Cuong hosted a State reception for the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam Haji Hassanal Bolkiah and a high-ranking Brunei delegation who are on a State visit to Vietnam from November 30 to December 2. Also in attendance was Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh .

Warmly welcoming Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah and the high-ranking Brunei delegation on a State visit to Vietnam, President Luong Cuong emphasized that after more than 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations and more than 5 years of upgrading the Comprehensive Partnership, the Vietnam-Brunei relationship has been continuously consolidated and developed, achieving important and substantive results.

Currently, the two sides are actively implementing the Action Program for the 2023-2027 period, focusing on effectively exploiting potential and strong fields such as agriculture , seafood, Halal, energy, education, tourism, maritime and ocean cooperation...

Affirming that the King's visit will further deepen the close ties and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Brunei, the President believes that with the goodwill and efforts of both sides, the Vietnam-Brunei Comprehensive Partnership will increasingly develop; contributing to building a united, self-reliant and prosperous ASEAN Community, for the benefit of the people of the two countries, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

In an atmosphere of friendship, on behalf of the leaders of the Party, State and people of Vietnam, the President once again wished the King and the Royal Family good health and happiness, and wished the country and people of Brunei more and more prosperity; and that the Vietnam-Brunei friendship and Comprehensive Partnership be increasingly close and develop well.

In his reply, Sultan of Brunei Haji Hassanal Bolkiah expressed his pleasure to return to Hanoi - "City for Peace" and thanked the State and people of Vietnam for their sincere feelings and warm welcome to the Sultan and the Brunei delegation during their State visit to Vietnam.

Recalling the event of Vietnam joining ASEAN in 1995, opening a period of integration and cooperation with countries in the region, the Sultan of Brunei affirmed that after 30 years, Vietnam has emerged as one of the region's rising economies and a prestigious member of the ASEAN community, and believes that Vietnam will continue to achieve even greater achievements towards becoming a prosperous and sustainable developing country by 2045.

King Haji Hassanal Bolkiah also highly appreciated Vietnam's role and prestige in the international arena, including Vietnam's re-election to the United Nations Human Rights Council and its successful hosting of the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention on Cybercrime.

Regarding bilateral relations, the Sultan of Brunei said that the two countries are sharing warm cooperation in many fields within the framework of the Comprehensive Partnership; at the same time, he believed that the two sides would continue to promote further cooperation to protect and preserve common goals; strengthen ties in the field of trade, expand agricultural joint ventures and energy cooperation through signed documents, contributing to the continuous growth and development of the two countries.

Along with that, Brunei wishes to continue to cooperate closely with Vietnam and other member countries in the region to realize the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 towards regional peace, security and stability./.
