This afternoon, the plane carrying Jordan's King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein arrived in Hanoi . The King is on a two-day visit to Vietnam.
Immediately afterwards, the motorcade took the King into the city and to the Presidential Palace to attend the welcoming ceremony presided over by President Luong Cuong.
The King's visit takes place in the context of the two countries celebrating the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations (August 9, 1980 - August 9, 2025), which is of great significance.
Amidst the welcoming music, President Luong Cuong shook hands and welcomed the King of Jordan to Vietnam.

Hanoi children presented flowers and waved to the Jordanian delegation. The national flags of the two countries fluttered in the afternoon sun.
Next, the President respectfully invited the King to step up to the podium. Military band played the national anthems of the two countries. President Luong Cuong invited King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein to review the Guard of Honor of the Vietnam People's Army.
The President and the King both greeted the delegations from both countries attending the welcoming ceremony. At the end of the welcoming ceremony, the two leaders returned to the podium and witnessed the welcoming parade of the Guard of Honor.
Immediately after the welcoming ceremony, the two leaders held talks.

It is expected that the King of Jordan will have meetings with key leaders of Vietnam, attend the Vietnam - Jordan business forum, hold a roundtable discussion with textile and garment enterprises, and have a number of other activities.
This is the first visit by a Jordanian head of state to Vietnam and the first exchange of delegations at the head of state/government level between the two countries since the establishment of diplomatic relations.
The visit marks a historic milestone in bilateral relations, opening a new phase of cooperation, creating a premise for promoting cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
