
At the invitation of President Luong Cuong, King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein of Jordan arrived in Hanoi , beginning an official visit to Vietnam on November 12 and 13.

The welcoming ceremony took place at 1:50 p.m. at the Presidential Palace with state-level ceremony, in a solemn atmosphere. The weather in Hanoi today is quite nice, cool and sunny.

This is the first visit by the head of the Kingdom of Jordan to Vietnam. The visit takes place in the context of the two countries celebrating the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (August 9, 1980 - August 9, 2025), contributing to opening a new phase of cooperation.

After the welcoming ceremony, President Luong Cuong and King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein led high-ranking delegations from the two countries to hold talks.

President Luong Cuong highly appreciated the cooperation results between Vietnam and Jordan in recent times and proposed cooperation directions in the coming time.

At the talks, King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein also expressed his condolences to Vietnam for the recent losses caused by natural disasters. The King also shared that Jordan is ready to support Vietnam in all aspects at any time, under the conditions allowed.

Also this afternoon, General Secretary To Lam received King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein at the Party Central Headquarters.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also met with King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of Jordan this afternoon.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations on August 9, 1980, the relationship between Vietnam and Jordan has been continuously strengthened and developed.
Recently, at a meeting with King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of Jordan on the occasion of attending the 3rd United Nations Ocean Summit in Nice (France) on June 8, 2025, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to multifaceted cooperation with Jordan; meanwhile, King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of Jordan expressed his admiration for Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements and strong rise.
