Speaking at the opening of the Congress, Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh, Chairwoman of the Emulation and Reward Council of the National Assembly Standing Committee, stated that, in the exciting emulation atmosphere of the whole country, making achievements to welcome the 14th National Party Congress, towards the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress and the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam, today, the National Assembly Standing Committee solemnly organized the 1st Patriotic Emulation Congress for the period 2025 - 2030.

The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly said that, implementing President Ho Minh's teaching "Emulation is patriotism, patriotism requires emulation; those who emulate are the most patriotic", continuing the tradition of patriotic emulation of the National Assembly, over the past 5 years, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly has always paid attention to directing emulation movements and commendation work, with many innovations, in accordance with the actual situation and operating conditions of the National Assembly agencies. In particular, implementing the new provisions of the Law on Emulation and Commendation in 2022, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 44/2024/UBTVQH15 dated February 5, 2024 detailing the forms, criteria and procedures for commendation for National Assembly deputies, National Assembly agencies and officials and civil servants under its management; for the first time establishing the Emulation and Commendation Council of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly.

On that basis, emulation and reward work at the National Assembly and its agencies has been promoted and put into practice; practical emulation movements have received enthusiastic responses from a large number of National Assembly deputies, cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers, closely linked with emulation movements across the country, spreading the spirit of creative work and enthusiastic, vibrant emulation atmosphere. The results of the emulation movement in the 2020 - 2025 period have contributed positively to the comprehensive implementation of the National Assembly's political tasks, especially in key areas of work: perfecting institutions; deciding on important issues of the country and effectively supervising issues of concern to voters and the People.

"The typical examples honored at today's Congress are the bright, outstanding flowers in the very quiet work of the National Assembly, continuing to foster and extend the tradition of patriotic emulation of the National Assembly. Thereby, it is further affirmed that patriotic emulation has truly become a driving force for development, a great spiritual strength for cadres and party members of the National Assembly agencies in every job position to join hands to contribute to the excellent completion of all tasks assigned by the Party and the People in the era of national development," the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly stated.

The 1st Patriotic Emulation Congress of the National Assembly Standing Committee has the task of summarizing and evaluating the results of organizing and implementing the patriotic emulation movement and commendation work in the 2020-2025 period; setting out directions and tasks for organizing and implementing the patriotic emulation movement and commendation work of the National Assembly Standing Committee in the 2025-2030 period.

At the same time, the Congress also commended the achievements and honored collectives, individuals, and typical, advanced examples in the 5 years (2020 - 2025) and approved the list of delegates to attend the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress.

Immediately after the opening session, the Congress watched a video clip on the results of the patriotic emulation movement and commendation work for the period 2020 - 2025; directions and tasks of emulation and commendation work for the period 2025 - 2030; listened to speeches by a number of advanced models; announced the President's Commendation Decision and the National Assembly Standing Committee's Commendation Resolution; National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man launched the patriotic emulation movement for the period 2025 - 2030.
