Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Dai Thang visits and encourages forces on duty during Tet holiday.

On the evening of February 16th (the 29th day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Snake), Vu Dai Thang, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee, and Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, visited, extended New Year greetings, and inspected the readiness of several units on duty throughout the Tet holiday in Hanoi.

At the power dispatching station No. 274 Ton Duc Thang Street, Chairman of the City People's Committee Vu Dai Thang listened to the unit's leaders report on the preparations and operational plans for the Lunar New Year holiday of the Year of the Horse 2026.

According to Nguyen Danh Duyen, Chairman of the Board of Members of Hanoi Electricity Corporation, the unit has developed a 24/7 on-call plan, with 1,000 out of 7,400 employees on duty during Tet (Lunar New Year) across the city, especially at fireworks display locations; organized inspections and reviews of the entire power grid and substations; and arranged personnel, equipment, and backup materials ready to handle incidents. Detailed scenarios for responding to unusual situations regarding load, weather, and technical failures have been prepared.

Highly appreciating the unit's proactive spirit, Chairman of the City People's Committee Vu Dai Thang emphasized that electricity supply plays a particularly important role during the Lunar New Year holiday when people's needs for daily life, entertainment, and events increase significantly. Therefore, the requirement is to prevent any interruptions in electricity supply due to subjective reasons; and to handle any incidents quickly and promptly.

The Chairman of the City People's Committee requested the unit to continue strictly implementing technical procedures and ensuring labor safety; and to strengthen coordination with functional forces in protecting the security of the power system. At the same time, the unit should pay attention to the material and spiritual well-being of staff working during Tet, creating conditions for employees to work with peace of mind.

Acknowledging the efforts of the entire staff, engineers, and workers of the electricity sector, the Chairman of the City People's Committee affirmed that the smooth operation of the power system plays a crucial role in enabling the city to organize activities celebrating the Party and the Lunar New Year, serving the people in welcoming the new year in a joyful and safe atmosphere.

At the Hanoi 115 Emergency Center, located at 11 Phan Chu Trinh Street, Hanoi People's Committee Chairman Vu Dai Thang inspected the on-call duty, reception, and coordination of emergency services during the Lunar New Year holiday. This is a specialized medical unit, playing a core role in pre-hospital emergency care, promptly receiving, transporting, and treating emergency cases throughout the city, especially in emergency situations, accidents, and disasters.

Reporting to the city's working group, Dr. Nguyen Thanh, Director of the Hanoi 115 Emergency Center, stated that the Center had issued a plan for serving the Lunar New Year holiday early on, given that this year's holiday lasts for 9 days.

Accordingly, the Center focused on comprehensively reviewing the conditions for ensuring emergency services, especially ambulance vehicles, logistics, fuel, medicines, and medical supplies, to ensure smooth emergency operations without interruption or errors in any situation. Over the past three days, the Hanoi 115 Emergency Center maintained 15 continuous on-call teams and carried out 140 out-of-hospital emergency calls.

The Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee acknowledged the sense of responsibility and dedication of the medical staff and emergency response coordinators; and emphasized that during Tet, the risk of traffic accidents, domestic accidents, food poisoning, and acute illnesses may increase, therefore the Hanoi 115 emergency response force needs to maintain the highest level of readiness to avoid being caught off guard.

The Chairman of the City People's Committee requested the Center to continue improving the quality of pre-hospital emergency care; shorten the time to reach the scene; and strengthen the application of information technology in coordination and connection with medical facilities to ensure effective treatment for patients.

Emphasizing the spirit of "working during Tet but not neglecting duties," the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee expressed his hope that each medical officer and staff member would uphold medical ethics and professional responsibility, contributing to the Hanoi Health Department's efforts in caring for and protecting the health of the people during the first days of the new year.

The final destination in the program of visits, encouragement, and New Year greetings by the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, Vu Dai Thang, was the site where environmental sanitation workers were on duty around Hoan Kiem Lake. This is a central area, where a large number of people and tourists gather during the Lunar New Year, especially at the time of welcoming the Year of the Horse 2026.

Reporting to the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, Nguyen Huu Tien, Chairman of the Board of Members of Hanoi Urban Environment One-Member Limited Company, stated that the company has developed a plan to increase manpower and vehicles for garbage collection and transportation; and to organize overnight shifts to ensure environmental hygiene before, during, and after New Year's Eve. Work teams are assigned to specific areas to ensure timely garbage collection and prevent accumulation that could detract from urban aesthetics.

Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Dai Thang praised the responsible work ethic of the environmental sanitation workers – those who work silently to maintain the bright, green, clean, and beautiful appearance of the capital city during Tet.

Emphasizing that Hoan Kiem Lake and its surrounding area are cultural spaces and symbols of the city, the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee requested the company to continue to deploy personnel appropriately, intensify garbage collection immediately after peak hours; and ensure labor safety for workers under conditions of nighttime work and high pedestrian traffic.

The Chairman of the City People's Committee requested that departments, agencies, and local authorities coordinate to promote awareness among the people about maintaining environmental hygiene, avoiding littering, and working together to build a civilized urban lifestyle.

Sharing his thoughts with the sanitation workers, the Chairman of the City People's Committee affirmed that the city always pays attention to improving working conditions and policies for workers; and expressed his hope that each worker would continue to uphold their sense of responsibility, contributing to building the image of a cultured, civilized, and modern capital city.

The visit and New Year greetings by the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, Vu Dai Thang, was not only a timely encouragement for the forces on duty throughout the Tet holiday, but also demonstrated the close attention and guidance of the city's leaders in ensuring the best conditions for the people of Hanoi to celebrate the New Year safely, peacefully, and completely.
