Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc receives new assignment

On May 12, the Steering Committee for Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation of Ho Chi Minh City (abbreviated as the City Steering Committee) announced that it had decided to establish a Subcommittee to implement Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation in Ho Chi Minh City (abbreviated as the Subcommittee to implement Resolution 57).

According to the decision, comrade Nguyen Van Duoc, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Deputy Head of the City Steering Committee, is the Head of the Subcommittee to implement Resolution 57.

The Deputy Heads of the Subcommittee implementing Resolution 57 include: Comrade Vo Van Hoan, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Standing Subcommittee; Comrade Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Vo Ngoc Quoc Thuan, Director of the Department of Home Affairs; Lam Dinh Thang, Director of the Department of Science and Technology, Standing Member of the City Steering Committee.

In addition, the Subcommittee implementing Resolution 57 also has 9 members who are leaders of departments, branches and the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Center.

Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology is the standing agency of the Subcommittee implementing Resolution 57.

On May 6, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee decided to consolidate and rename the Steering Committee for the implementation of Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation in Ho Chi Minh City, to the Steering Committee for Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation in Ho Chi Minh City. Comrade Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, is the Head of the Steering Committee.
