Reaching the semi-finals of the 2026 AFC U-23 Championship marks the second time the Vietnam U-23 team has been among the top four teams in Asia. Previously, in Changzhou in 2018, under the guidance of coach Park Hang-seo, the Vietnam U-23 team achieved a remarkable feat by advancing directly to the final, making history for Vietnamese football. This achievement further demonstrates the steady and sustained progress of Vietnamese youth football, while also raising expectations for an even more successful journey ahead.

Recognizing the team's efforts and impressive achievements, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has decided to award a total of 3.1 billion VND to the Vietnam U23 team. Specifically, the victory against Jordan U23 received 500 million VND, the victory against Kyrgyzstan U23 received 600 million VND, the victory against and elimination of host Saudi Arabia U23 received 800 million VND, and the victory against UAE U23 in the quarterfinals received 1.2 billion VND. This is considered a timely encouragement for the Vietnam U23 team to continue confidently aiming for higher goals in this year's tournament.
