The Chief Justice said the courts have accepted 683,341 cases, resolved and tried 618,341 cases, reaching a rate of 90.49%, 0.77% higher than last year.

The rate of judgments and decisions annulled or amended due to subjective reasons was 0.69%, 0.08% lower than the previous year and meeting the requirements set forth in the National Assembly resolution.

Regarding the settlement and trial of criminal cases, the courts settled and tried 98.63% of the cases and 97.38% of the defendants, 0.45% higher than the previous year in terms of the number of cases and 0.56% in terms of the number of defendants, exceeding 10.63% of the target stated in the National Assembly's resolution. The trial of criminal cases was ensured to be strict, with the right person, the right crime, and the right law.

The Court has strictly handled many cases under the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness, and Negative Monitoring and Direction, which have been highly appreciated by public opinion.

Regarding the settlement and adjudication of civil cases, the courts have settled and adjudicated at a rate of 88.64%, 1.13% higher than the previous year and exceeding 10.64% of the target set by the National Assembly in the resolution.

The Chief Justice said that as of September 30, there were no cases that were overdue due to subjective reasons. Regarding the settlement and adjudication of administrative cases, the courts had resolved and adjudicated 81.99% of them, 5.07% higher than the previous year, exceeding 21.99% of the target set by the National Assembly resolution.

Examining this content, Chairman of the Law and Justice Committee Hoang Thanh Tung emphasized that the court has accelerated progress and improved the quality of handling cases, basically achieving and exceeding many targets assigned by the National Assembly.

In particular, the work of adjudicating and resolving criminal cases was basically brought to trial within the time limit prescribed by law. The trial rate reached 98.63%, exceeding the National Assembly's requirement by 10.63%. The trial was basically guaranteed to be strict and in accordance with the law.

The review agency assessed that the quality of trials was guaranteed, and no cases of wrongful convictions of innocent people were discovered; the rate of judgments and decisions annulled or amended due to subjective reasons met the requirements of the National Assembly.

Cases under the supervision and direction of the Central Steering Committee and the Provincial Steering Committee on anti-corruption, waste and negativity have been brought to trial promptly and strictly; focusing on measures to recover assets, which have received the consensus, support and high appreciation of public opinion and people.

However, there are still a number of criminal, civil and administrative judgments that have been annulled or amended due to subjective reasons; in which, for administrative judgments and decisions, this rate is still high (3.72%), not meeting the requirements of the National Assembly.

Also this morning, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy Nguyen Huy Tien reported to the National Assembly many important results in the work of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy in 2025.

Regarding prosecution and supervision in the criminal field, the Supreme People's Procuracy has directed the entire sector to continue to strengthen prosecution responsibilities, ensuring the principle of "not criminalizing civil, economic, administrative relations and vice versa", and resolutely fighting against injustice, mistakes or omissions of criminals.

Of which, the whole sector prosecuted and supervised the reception and settlement of 134,427 sources of information on crimes (reaching 100%); issued 97,694 requests for investigation agencies to check and verify sources of information on crimes. The sector conducted 1,829 direct inspections; requested the prosecution of 703 cases, requested the cancellation of 30 decisions to prosecute cases (up 50%); directly prosecuted to request investigation of 70 cases (up 233.3%).

The Procuracy has prosecuted and investigated 133,093 cases/239,756 defendants; issued 94,545 investigation requests; disapproved 681 orders and decisions to apply preventive measures; and canceled 959 detention decisions.

The sector has prosecuted and tried 95,237 cases/192,113 defendants. The Procuracy has detected violations and issued 553 appeals which were accepted, reaching 86.7% (exceeding 16.7%).

The Supreme People's Procuracy issued 75 appeals for review and retrial, which were accepted, reaching 88.3% (exceeding 13.3%). In 2025, there will be no cases where the court declared the defendant not guilty.

The Supreme People's Procuracy has closely coordinated with the Ministry of Public Security and the Supreme People's Court in investigating, prosecuting, and strictly trying many major corruption and economic cases under the supervision and direction of the Central Steering Committee. The agencies have applied measures to secure and recover VND45,531 billion, of which nearly VND4,000 billion is under Resolution 164/2024 on piloting the handling of evidence and assets.
