On the morning of December 2, at That Luang Square, the capital Vientiane, a solemn parade took place to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Laos National Day.

According to the Vientiane Times, on the morning of December 2, That Luang Square was packed with high-ranking Lao and international leaders, along with ambassadors, representatives of international organizations and guests attending the 50th Anniversary of Lao National Day (December 2, 1975 - December 2, 2025).

The ceremony was chaired by General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and President Thongloun Sisoulith, with the participation of Politburo members and many other senior officials.

Opening the ceremony, General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith expressed his deep gratitude for the outstanding contributions and sacrifices of revolutionary leaders, soldiers, heroes, party members, cadres and people of all ethnic groups who devoted their lives to national independence and liberation.

Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith affirmed that over the past 50 years, Laos has continued to firmly move forward on the path of protecting and developing the country, firmly maintaining revolutionary achievements, achievements built from the sacrifices and dedication of countless soldiers under the devoted leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.

On behalf of the Lao Party, State and people, General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith expressed his gratitude to friendly countries near and far, development partners, international organizations as well as social organizations that have actively supported and assisted Laos over the past half century.

Immediately after the speech of General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith, a grand parade took place, with the harmonious and solemn coordination of the armed forces; ministries, departments, branches; and socio-political organizations and unions.

The parade will conclude with a brilliant fireworks display at That Luang Square tonight, December 2, open to the public.
