The focus is on enhancing the dissemination of knowledge about gender equality; implementing support policies and programs in various fields for women and girls… contributing to narrowing the gender gap and raising awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors, and society regarding gender equality.
IMPLEMENTING POLICIES AND LAWS ON GENDER EQUALITY
In 2025, the Department of Internal Affairs, along with other provincial departments and agencies and socio-political organizations, will focus on strengthening the dissemination and education of laws and implementing activities related to gender equality.

The dissemination of knowledge is carried out through various forms such as training courses, seminars, thematic talks, competitions, etc., thereby promptly conveying to the people the policies and guidelines of the Party and the State, and the key contents of the Law on Gender Equality.
At the local level, the People's Committees of communes and wards direct specialized departments to coordinate with political and social organizations to integrate gender equality into activities at branches, groups, and associations in residential areas, disseminating information to officials, Party members, Youth Union members, association members, and the people, and mobilizing people to implement gender equality in their families to build happy families.
Schools in the province are integrating awareness campaigns into extracurricular activities to help students recognize manifestations, prejudices, and discrimination based on gender between boys and girls.
Awareness campaigns are also intensified during the annual Month of Action for Gender Equality and Response to Gender-Based Violence.
The Department of Home Affairs instructed the selected localities to organize the launching ceremony for the Action Month, combined with communication on gender equality. At the same time, they were instructed to open training courses on gender equality for local residents and students.
In Hong Ngu ward, thanks to the attention of the government, the involvement of the community, and the efforts of each family, in recent years, Hong Ngu ward has made significant progress in gender equality work, helping women and children receive timely protection and support, thereby enabling women to become increasingly confident and make extensive contributions in many areas of life.

According to Nguyen Thi Kim Yen, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hong Ngu Ward: "The locality is stepping up communication to help people better understand the value of gender equality and their responsibility to protect victims of violence both in real life and in cyberspace."
At the same time, we will promote and expand safe models for women and children, equipping them with skills to identify, prevent, and respond to violence, especially in the online environment; actively encourage people, union members, and association members to build "prosperous, progressive, and happy" families, contributing to building a safe, just, and compassionate community.
Meanwhile, in My Tho ward, the entire ward currently has over 29,100 women and nearly 4,700 girls.
In the context of the digital age, girls and young women are vulnerable to many risks such as violence, harassment, online scams, and access to harmful information through the digital environment.
According to Dang Ba Hau, Deputy Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Department of My Tho Ward: “Currently, the Culture and Social Affairs Department is advising the Ward People's Committee to continue implementing comprehensive solutions, focusing on strengthening propaganda about gender equality through various channels, especially targeting digital safety skills for women and girls.”
At the same time, maintaining models of "Safe Families" and "Violence-Free Neighborhoods," replicating positive male role models, and contributing to changing perceptions and promoting genuine gender equality in the community... aims to protect and ensure gender equality for women and girls in the digital age.
During the 2025 Action Month with the theme "Gender Equality and Safety for Women and Girls in the Digital Age," the Department of Internal Affairs, provincial departments and agencies, and provincial and local political and social organizations displayed over 1,500 banners; and integrated and organized 1,450 thematic talks and group communication sessions on gender equality.
TOWARDS EQUALITY IN THE DIGITAL AGE
In addition to focusing on disseminating legal knowledge, the Provincial People's Committee also directed provincial and local departments and agencies to implement many activities to support women and girls in various aspects of life, economy , and society, aiming to ensure the achievement of national gender equality goals in the following areas: politics; economy, labor; family life and prevention and response to gender-based violence; health; education and training; information and communication.

Every year, the province focuses on nurturing, training, and planning for female cadres, creating conditions for women to participate in the political system, reducing disparities in positions and roles, and creating conditions and opportunities for female cadres, civil servants, and public employees to develop their skills and abilities.
Provincial departments, provincial and local political and social organizations, especially the People's Committees of communes and wards and the Women's Union at the grassroots level, maintain good work in providing career counseling and job placement services, vocational training in rural areas, helping women access preferential capital, science and technology, and creating opportunities for women to develop production and improve their family's economy.
In 2025, the Department of Internal Affairs will organize 71 training courses and 30 communication groups on gender equality for citizens and students in schools. The Department of Internal Affairs also coordinated with the Ministry of Internal Affairs to organize training courses on gender equality under the National Target Program for Poverty Reduction for officials of 102 communes and wards; the Women's Union at all levels organized propaganda, competitions, and seminars on gender equality for more than 85,000 officials, members, and women; 100% of educational institutions maintained propaganda on gender equality for students. |
In the field of healthcare, the provincial health sector strives to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, ensuring and creating conditions for women and girls to access high-quality healthcare services.
In addition, the goal of gender equality within the family is integrated with the implementation of family-related work and the annual "National Unity for Building a Culturally Rich Life" movement.
As a result, many "Sustainable Family Development" Clubs and "Domestic Violence Prevention" Groups are maintained at the grassroots level, helping to raise people's awareness of gender equality.
At the same time, efforts are being made to raise awareness and encourage people to eliminate rigid gender stereotypes against women. The prevention and control of domestic violence, as well as counseling, mediation, and support for victims of domestic violence, are being effectively implemented by the communes and wards.
The implementation of support programs and policies has created gender equality and promoted the role, status, and voice of women and girls in various fields.
Currently, many female officials participate in the political system; the percentage of female workers in enterprises in the province is 60.07%; female workers in the agricultural sector account for 38.2%; female directors, business owners, and cooperative owners account for 34%; 100% of victims of domestic violence and gender-based violence are identified and have access to at least one basic support service...
Ms. Le Thi Hien Phuong, an official at the Public Service Center of Hong Ngu Ward, said: "Gender inequality causes women to suffer many disadvantages, limiting their opportunities for education, employment, and career development."
Implementing gender equality is of great importance, not only to protect the rights of women, but also to contribute to building happy families and a progressive society.
In my family, all opinions are respected, and decisions are discussed in a spirit of equality. I believe that, in addition to the attention of all levels of government and localities in implementing gender equality, each family needs to proactively promote equality between men and women, creating conditions for both women and men to have equal opportunities for self-development.”
Mr. Le Tan Thanh (Binh Thanh A hamlet, Hong Ngu ward) shared: “I have attended many training courses organized by the local authorities and units. Through these courses, I understand more about gender equality between men and women in the family, in education, and in labor and production.”
"From then on, it helped me change, behave more positively, and respect the opinions of family members to build a happy, progressive, and civilized family."
In the coming period, the Department of Internal Affairs will continue to advise the Provincial People's Committee to strengthen the Committees for the Advancement of Women at the provincial and commune levels; implement communication plans to change and raise people's awareness of gender equality; develop short plays and thematic programs on gender equality to be broadcast on television and radio; strengthen the organization of training for officials and civil servants in charge of gender equality work in provincial departments and agencies and commune-level People's Committees... in order to better implement gender equality work, aiming for gender equality for women and girls in the digital age.
