BHG - With the determination to build a growing community of businesses operating in the tourism and service sector, and to build the Ha Giang tourism brand as "Friendly, distinctive, safe, and professional," the Provincial Tourism Association has proactively innovated its content and methods of operation in recent years, joining hands with all levels and sectors to develop tourism into a key economic sector.

The Provincial Tourism Association currently has over 100 members, including 40 members operating in the hotel and guesthouse sector, over 20 members operating restaurants; nearly 30 members operating homestays and travel services, and the remaining members operating in other tourism-related fields. For the 2021-2026 term, the Association aims to continue to strongly innovate its content and methods of operation, consolidate and build the Association to develop further, and effectively fulfill its role in representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of its members. To concretize these goals into practical conditions, from the beginning of 2023 to the present, the Provincial Tourism Association has focused on improving the operational structure of its branches, continuously consolidating and developing membership; coordinating with departments, sectors, and localities to strengthen the management of tourism activities; and annually organizing meetings with businesses and individuals operating tourism services. The Association's Executive Committee promotes, guides, and encourages members to vote for Ha Giang as a leading emerging tourism destination in Asia; organizes training to improve the quality of tourism human resources and provides training and support to businesses, cooperatives, and households in digital transformation; works with banks to understand preferential credit policies and inform members who need loans for tourism development. The Executive Committee supports members in connecting with domestic and foreign businesses to promote, advertise, and expand cooperative relationships for tourism development; launches high-quality tourism products; expands external relations activities; and strengthens communication to introduce tourist areas and destinations. In particular, the launch of the Branch Office II in Ho Chi Minh City plays a crucial role in linking and promoting the tourism market from the Southern region to Ha Giang.

In addition, the Vietnam National Tourism Administration (HHDL) coordinated with districts to survey and develop tourism products such as "Legend of the Gam River" and "Rhododendron Flower Festival"; organized an art workshop in Quan Ba ​​district with the theme "Ha Giang - Where Heaven and Earth Meet"; implemented the "Green Border Journey" program to support the planting of over 25,000 cypress trees in Thanh Thuy commune (Vi Xuyen); participated in the cultural and tourism exhibition at the Mong Flute Festival of Ha Giang province and the Three Regions of North, Central, and South Vietnam Food and Culture Festival; and participated in the VITM international tourism fair.

Through the activities of the Tourism Association, many businesses have established relationships, provided support, and linked together for mutual development; the quality of tourism services in the province has been increasingly improved, making an important contribution to attracting a large number of tourists to the province. In the first six months of 2023, Ha Giang welcomed more than 1.4 million tourists, an increase of 28.2% compared to the same period in 2022 and reaching 56.7% of the annual plan; including more than 136,000 international tourists and nearly 1.3 million domestic tourists. Revenue from tourism reached over 3.3 trillion VND.

Despite its outstanding achievements, the Ha Giang Tourism Association faces many challenges because its members are mostly small and medium-sized enterprises and individual businesses with limited resources, and the quality of the tourism workforce is not yet high. Therefore, according to the provincial Tourism Association's leadership, to contribute to building and affirming the Ha Giang brand on the tourism map, the Association will continue to coordinate with agencies and units to implement the contents of the tourism development cooperation program; train human resources; improve the value and quality of services; participate in international tourism fairs; visit and learn from the experiences of other localities; promote tourism; strengthen close links and support among members, promote solidarity, multi-directional exchange, and develop diverse and high-quality services; proactively propose to the province mechanisms, policies, and solutions to support the sustainable development of tourism and service businesses; and do a good job in social welfare and community activities.
