Driving forces for the development of rural industries.
According to statistics from the Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ), after 6 national-level selections of outstanding rural industrial products (RISEP), approximately 800 rural industrial products nationwide have achieved this title. Of these, over 80% of national-level RISEP products have received support from industrial promotion programs through programs for machinery and equipment modernization, technology application, technical demonstration model development, and trade promotion.

Furthermore, over 70% of RISEP products have entered distribution channels and supply chains nationwide. This demonstrates that the national-level selection program for outstanding rural industrial products not only honors achievements but also creates a practical support chain to help businesses enhance their competitiveness and expand their markets.
In 2025, the whole country will have 108 rural industrial products that have achieved the RISEP national product title. Of these, the newly merged Thai Nguyen province alone has 6 nationally recognized RISEP products, including: Bac Kan turmeric extract from Bac Kan Agricultural Products Joint Stock Company; Ngoc Tinh Lien lotus-infused tea from Tan Cuong Xanh Co., Ltd.; shrimp bud tea from Hao Dat Tea Cooperative; Tuyet Huong tea from Tuyet Huong Cooperative; heart tea from Viet Thai Tea Joint Stock Company; and flower-infused tea from Son Dung Tea Cooperative.
As a unit whose products have achieved the national RISEP product title, Ms. Dao Thanh Hao - Director of Hao Dat Tea Cooperative, shared: The national RISEP product title helps the cooperative elevate its product brand and enhance its reputation with customers. This is also a motivation for the cooperative to continue improving product quality, standardizing processes, improving packaging, and expanding the market even more strongly.
Meanwhile, according to Ms. Tran Thi Tuyet, Director of Tuyet Huong Cooperative: The recognition of Tuyet Huong tea as a national RISEP product is a strong motivation for the cooperative to invest in deep processing lines, build organic raw material areas, and expand the market. The cooperative will develop a sustainable value chain and diversify tea products to further affirm its brand in the market.
From a management perspective, Mr. Duong Van Hoan, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Thai Nguyen province, stated that the national RISEP product selection program aims to honor products while simultaneously creating motivation to improve the production capacity of rural industrial establishments.
To support the national-level SISEP product program, the Thai Nguyen Department of Industry and Trade stated that in the coming period, it will focus on promoting and supporting businesses and rural industrial establishments in applying advanced technologies, expanding production, and building strong brands. At the same time, it will continue to improve the quality of surveys and develop industrial promotion projects with a focused and targeted approach; supporting pioneering products that suit the competitive advantages of each locality.

RISEP - a stepping stone for rural industrial products to reach further markets.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Lam Giang, Director of the Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion, being recognized as a RISEP product brings many practical benefits to rural industrial enterprises. Not only can they use the program logo on their products, but they also receive priority in industrial promotion funding, participate in trade promotion activities, and are advertised through various media channels. More importantly, RISEP helps to position the product's brand, building trust with consumers and partners. This serves as a stepping stone for rural industrial products to participate more deeply in the value chain, expand their domestic market, and aim for export.
According to experts, the highlight of the RISEP system is its rigorously organized voting process across multiple levels, from the grassroots to the national level, ensuring openness, transparency, and objectivity, guaranteeing fairness and encouraging participation from businesses, cooperatives, and rural industrial establishments. In particular, products are evaluated based on multiple criteria such as production development capacity, ability to meet market demand, economic , technical, social, and environmental factors, cultural and aesthetic value, and export potential.
In the context of Vietnam's efforts to promote green economic development, innovation, and digital transformation, the RISEP program is expected to continue to be an extension of industrial promotion activities, contributing to the discovery, promotion, and enhancement of Vietnamese rural industrial products.
To enable national industrial promotion activities to act as a catalyst for the expansion of rural industrial products, in 2025 the Prime Minister issued Decree No. 235/2025/ND-CP amending and supplementing several articles of Decree No. 45/2012/ND-CP on industrial promotion. If implemented correctly, Decree No. 235 will not only be a tool to support small and micro-enterprises, but also a lever for the sustainable development of rural industries, enhancing competitiveness and gradually expanding markets.
