
The political art program “Glory of the Vietnamese National Assembly ” recreates the proud journey over the past 80 years since the first general election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly, affirming the great contributions of the National Assembly to the national revolutionary cause.
Within the framework of the Program, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh , National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and delegates attending the Program watched a report recognizing the contributions of the Vietnamese National Assembly during the resistance war period, affirming the role of the National Assembly until the day the country was reunified.

Since the first General Election in 1946, the National Assembly has always been the People's forum, the crystallization of the nation's intelligence, will and aspirations, accompanying the revolutionary cause throughout the country's history.
During the resistance years, the National Assembly made important decisions, mobilizing human and material resources for the frontline, while strengthening the rear; promptly deciding and resolving policies to serve the resistance.
During the resistance war against France, the National Assembly passed the 1946 Constitution, affirming that power belongs to the people and deciding on the line of national resistance.

During the resistance war against the US, the National Assembly continued to play a strategic orientation role, passing the 1959 Constitution and policies to mobilize forces and ensure the rear for the front line.
During that period of resistance for national independence and democracy, the National Assembly played a very important role, building the necessary legal foundation for us to build socialism and resist American imperialism.
The National Assembly also promoted foreign affairs activities to gain the sympathy and support of international friends for the cause of resistance war to save the country for national independence and freedom for the people, contributing to creating a combined strength to fight and win in long-term resistance wars.

During 30 years of resistance, the National Assembly has become the center of solidarity, will and strength of the entire Vietnamese people. In the fierce war, both fighting the war and building the nation, the National Assembly still maintained its activities and was the embodiment of the will of the entire people, a solid support for our entire nation to overcome all difficulties and challenges to together gain victory and unify the country in the spring of 1975.
In the common joy of North and South reuniting as one family, the country connecting as one strip, more than 23 million voters nationwide - in the position of masters of the country, enthusiastically fulfilled their civic duty, electing outstanding representatives to the highest state power agency.

After years of fierce war, the 1976 General Election was of great significance: both the North and the South had a unified National Assembly, a unified State and unified governments at all levels.
The victory of the General Election affirmed the Vietnamese people's right to master the country, opening up opportunities for the integration process and expanding international cooperation of the Vietnamese National Assembly in the position of an independent and unified State.
