On the evening of April 30th, at the Nguyen Hue pedestrian street stage ( Ho Chi Minh City), a special art program with the theme "Love Songs of the Homeland" was solemnly held to celebrate the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026) and the 140th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2026).

The program was directed by the Ho Chi Minh City Organizing Committee for the Commemoration of Major Holidays; the content was directed by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports ; and the Ho Chi Minh City Arts Center organized the performance, under the direction of director Tran Vi My.

With a duration of 90 minutes, the program is structured into three chapters: "Songs of Independence," "Gratitude," and "Proudly Moving Towards the Future," recreating the journey of the struggle for independence and national reunification, and the development achievements of Ho Chi Minh City today.

The program opened with a medley of songs, "What Could Be More Beautiful - Dear Party," depicting the Party's leadership role in the national liberation struggle. The artistic space continued to expand with performances such as "The Calm River," "Truong Son East - Truong Son West," and "I'm Still Waiting for You to Come Home," evoking the arduous but optimistic and compassionate years of war.

In particular, documentary video clips about Southern Vietnam during the resistance war, along with performances by artists and members of the City Youth Union's Traditional Club, contributed to vividly recreating the fighting spirit in the heart of the city, highlighting the strength of national unity.

The program reached its climax with performances of "Saigon Girl Carrying Ammunition" and "Vietnam on the Day of Great Victory," recreating the historic moment of April 30, 1975 - the moment when the country was reunified, ushering in an era of peace, independence, and development.

The program concluded with the song "Proud Vietnam," a powerful affirmation of national pride, the will to strive forward, and faith in the bright future of the country.

More than just an art program, "Love Songs of the Homeland" is also a space for traditional education, helping the public, especially the younger generation, to better understand the value of peace and independence, as well as their responsibility in building and protecting the nation.

Contributing to the program's appeal is the participation of many renowned artists such as Dan Truong, Vo Ha Tram, Quoc Thien, Hien Thuc, Ho Trung Dung, Pham The Vi… along with professional artists, actors, and performing forces from Ho Chi Minh City.

Through the artistic language combining music, dance, circus acts, etc., the program created a rich and emotional overall picture, connecting the past, present, and future. In doing so, it contributed to spreading the message of patriotism, solidarity, and the aspiration for sustainable development of Ho Chi Minh City in particular and Vietnam in general.
