The program began on January 13th with a commemorative stamp set celebrating the American science fiction television series *Stranger Things*, which aired on Netflix from 2016 and will end on December 31, 2025. The series ranked 68th on the BBC's 2021 list of the 100 best television series of the 21st century.

Concorde supersonic aircraft stamp set
On January 21st, a set of stamps honoring the Concorde supersonic aircraft was released, exactly 50 years after the aircraft made its first commercial flight on January 21, 1976, as a collaboration between British Airways and Air France.
The 2026 stamp issuance program continues on February 19th with a set of stamps commemorating the 125th anniversary of the British railway company Hornby Model Railways. On February 26th, Royal Mail will release a set of stamps featuring roses to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Royal National Rose Society.
A subsequent set of stamps, to be released on March 20th, will feature The Lord of the Rings to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the publication of JRR Tolkien's books. The 2026 set will likely use imagery from the popular three-part film series, which premiered 25 years ago in 2001.
Royal Mail will release a set of stamps on April 21st to commemorate the 100th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II. Another set, released on May 21st, will feature castles, and a set on June 23rd will have a waterfall theme. Royal Mail says the full release schedule for these special stamp sets in 2026 will be announced as soon as possible.
