On November 19, experts from the Project on Transforming Pest Management Measures on Coffee, Tea, and Pepper Farms in Vietnam visited and learned about the effectiveness of project implementation in Dak Nong.
Experts studied pepper cultivation at Doan Ket Agricultural Service Cooperative and some households in Dak Song and Cu Jut districts.

Experts studied the practical application of IPM and pesticide use on pepper farms in Dak Nong. Experts highly appreciated farmers and cooperatives in Dak Nong for taking strong actions in applying integrated pest management in their gardens.
Thanks to that, many farmers and cooperatives in Dak Nong have gradually minimized harmful impacts on the environment, ensuring safe agricultural production and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The project to transform pest management practices on coffee, tea, and pepper farms in Vietnam will be implemented from 2022-2025 in Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Dak Nong, Binh Phuoc , Tuyen Quang, and Phu Tho.
In Dak Nong, the project has built 6 models applying integrated pest management, with a total area of nearly 15 hectares of pepper.
The project focuses on the use of agrochemicals on coffee, tea and pepper farms in Vietnam with the aim of minimizing negative impacts on climate and biodiversity.

The project uses GIS (geographic information system) tools to identify chemical use hotspots, by overlaying existing satellite datasets.
The project objective is to build a knowledge base on the current situation of pesticide use in Vietnamese agriculture and its associated health and environmental impacts.
