This is because, from a newly established village with many hardships, Cat My has now become prosperous and peaceful. This transformation began with the establishment of a grassroots Party organization linked to "ensuring the people's well-being." At the center of this journey of unity, Mr. Tien sets an example through concrete and responsible actions.
From "a single party branch all to itself"...
In the final days of 2025, we visited Cat My village just as the Party branch was holding an expanded thematic meeting. Inside the community center, Party members discussed solutions to improve the quality of Party branch meetings, create a source for Party member development, and overcome difficulties in production.
The meeting was serious yet open, reflecting the sense of responsibility of each party member towards the common good of the village.

During a break, Mr. Tien recounted the journey of establishing the village Party branch. Cat My village was formed in 1998-1999, when households from Phu Cat and Phu My districts (formerly Binh Dinh province) moved to Ia Pia to start a new life.
In the early years, life was very difficult for the people, production was fragmented, infrastructure was lacking, and poverty clung to every family.
In that context, establishing the Party organization faced many obstacles. Initially, Mr. Tien had to participate in Party branch activities with the villages of Dach and O Ngol. It wasn't until 2008 that the Party Committee of the former Ia Ve commune decided to establish the Cat My village Party branch.
In 2010, he was elected Party Branch Secretary along with two other Party members who were assigned to the village by the commune Party Committee, marking an important step in the development of the Party organization at the grassroots level.
“During that time, I was very worried. We had a Party branch, but I was really the only one shouldering so much responsibility. It was very stressful, but I thought that if I didn't persevere and mobilize the villagers, it would be difficult for the village to have a truly strong Party organization,” Mr. Tien said.
The biggest challenge at that time, according to him, was the task of recruiting and developing Party members. From the beginning, the village Party branch determined not to chase after quantity, but to persistently cultivate and train outstanding individuals through movements to build new rural areas and develop the economy …
Thanks to this rigorous approach, many individuals, after a period of striving, have matured and, upon joining the Party, have clearly demonstrated their pioneering and exemplary roles.
As one of the outstanding individuals admitted to the Party in 2019, Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuc (born in 1988, Cat My village) said: “I am proud and honored to have been nurtured and introduced to the Party by Mr. Tien. With the responsibility of being a pioneer and leading the way, my family donated land for road construction, planted trees, and supported households in difficult circumstances. We want to contribute to the further development of our locality.”
Mr. Tien emphasized: "The important thing is not just to increase the number of party members, but to improve the quality of the team, avoid formalism, and ensure that words are matched by actions. Thanks to a systematic approach, the village Party branch now has 12 party members (1 probationary member), each of whom is fulfilling their roles and responsibilities well."
Based on that foundation, the Party branch effectively implemented the "Four Good Party Branch" model, assigning Party members to be in charge of groups of households, and linking Party activities with the task of socio-economic development at the grassroots level.
...to build strong villages and prosperous people.
Once the Party branch of Cat My village was strong, Mr. Tien devoted much effort to mobilizing the people in the area to boldly change the crop structure and apply scientific and technical achievements to production.
Currently, the villagers cultivate over 200 hectares of coffee, 35 hectares of durian, 5 hectares of pepper, 1.5 hectares of rubber, and many other fruit trees; the total livestock and poultry population is nearly 2,100 animals… The average per capita income reaches 103 million VND/year. Currently, there are no longer any poor households in the village.

To help people produce efficiently, Mr. Tien also mobilized 40 households to establish a durian farming association, aiming to exchange experiences, farming methods, and market information; linking with businesses to organize scientific and technical training and product distribution… Through this, many households have mastered techniques, invested boldly, and opened up new avenues for development.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Phuong (born in 1964, Cat My village) shared: “Previously, I planted 1,000 coffee trees. After being encouraged by Mr. Tien to join the Durian Association, I boldly planted an additional 250 durian trees.”
Mr. Tien not only talked but also acted, providing very thorough guidance. Thanks to him, in the 2025 harvest alone, after deducting expenses, the family earned a net profit of over 700 million VND from selling coffee and durian, significantly improving their living standards.”
Over the years, Mr. Tien, along with the Party branch and the village management board, has actively encouraged residents to adopt a civilized lifestyle, eradicate outdated customs, superstitions, and consanguineous marriages; donate land for road construction and public welfare projects; and strictly abide by village regulations, customs, policies, and laws. These efforts have contributed to maintaining security and order and building a more civilized and united Cat My community.
Mr. Nguyen Kien Cuong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Ia Pia commune, assessed: "The achievements of Cat My village are the result of a harmonious blend of the Party's will and the people's aspirations. Mr. Nguyen Duc Tien's dedicated leadership and close connection with the people are outstanding. The people's trust in the Party has been strengthened, becoming a driving force for the locality to continue moving forward."
