On the afternoon of June 17, in Hoi An City, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with Vietnam Railways Corporation to hold a conference to discuss the train operation plan to serve tourists to Quang Nam and the connection plan for the "Central Heritage Train".
According to Vietnam Railways Corporation , since March 2024, the unit has deployed the tourist train "Connecting Central Heritage" running on the Da Nang - Hue route and initially achieved many positive results. On that basis, Vietnam Railways Corporation proposed to organize 2 pairs of trains running on the Hue - Da Nang - Tam Ky route and vice versa to serve tourists who want to visit and travel to famous places in the 3 localities.
To bring tourists the best experience, Vietnam Railways Corporation proposed that Quang Nam arrange a stopping/parking area for passenger pick-up vehicles at Tam Ky station; a luggage storage area for tourists; support the connection of means of transport such as railway - road, forming a closed transport supply chain serving tourists such as buses, taxis, motorbike and bicycle rentals... at Tam Ky station.
At the conference, representatives of travel agencies and tourism companies supported the plan to deploy the "Central Heritage Train" connecting Hue - Da Nang - Quang Nam, and at the same time, they stated that this is an opportunity to connect and promote regional linkages, form tourism products and product chains; strengthen linkages and cooperation in developing railway tourism products and services, contributing to the recovery and strong development of tourism. Some opinions suggested that the plan to stop the train at Tra Kieu station (Duy Xuyen) should be further studied so that tourists can travel to My Son Sanctuary more conveniently.
