On the afternoon of May 20, Binh Duong Club unexpectedly introduced a Japanese expert named Naoki Kusunose. Mr. Naoki will be the number 1 assistant to new coach Anh Duc with a short-term contract.
Assistant coach Naoki has a relatively good track record with Japanese women's teams. Mr. Naoki Kusunose won the 2016 Women's World Cup runner-up with Japan U17, and 3rd place in the 2017 U16 Asia.
Notably, Mr. Kusunose is the head coach of Urawa Red Diamonds Women's Club, the team that won the Japanese WE League twice. Mr. Naoki recently played in Ho Chi Minh City in October 2024.
Through relationships, Coach Anh Duc received professional support from Mr. Naoki after the Urawa Reds Diamonds women's team was eliminated from the 2024-2025 AFC Champions League Women's Team.
Previously, Coach Anh Duc chose assistant Nguyen Tang Tuan (former player of Hoang Anh Gia Lai , Binh Duong) after accepting to lead Binh Duong Club to replace Mr. Nguyen Cong Manh.
In his debut match with his former team, Coach Anh Duc directed his team to a 0-0 draw with Quang Nam Club. Binh Duong Club currently has 26 points and is temporarily ranked 9th on the V-League 2024-2025 rankings.
Coach Anh Duc will introduce assistant Naoki to Binh Duong Club in the away match at Thong Nhat Stadium of Ho Chi Minh City Club on the evening of May 23.
