Hanoi FC pushes Da Nang to the brink of defeat.

At Hang Day Stadium, Hanoi FC dramatically defeated Da Nang with a narrow 2-1 victory, putting the team from the Han River in a precarious position in the relegation battle.

On the evening of May 1st, Hanoi FC will host Da Nang FC in Round 21 of the LPBank V-League 2025-2026.

With the advantage of playing at home and a superior squad, coach Harry Kewell's team easily imposed a proactive attacking game against Da Nang . The home team took an early lead in the 3rd minute when Do Hoang Hen's free kick lofted the ball to defender Nguyen Anh Tiep, who headed it past goalkeeper Nguyen Van Toan.

Da Nang tried to play defensively and counter-attack, and they responded in the 21st minute. Nguyen Minh Quang broke the offside trap and his shot went wide, inadvertently setting up Makaric to tap into an empty net, leveling the score at 1-1.

At the start of the second half, the capital city team benefited from a numerical advantage after Da Nang defender Nguyen Duc Anh received a red card in the 70th minute. In the 83rd minute, Do Hoang Hen nearly scored to give Hanoi the lead when his shot hit the post of the Da Nang goal.

Da Nang FC tried hard to find an equalizer in the remaining time but could not avoid a 1-2 defeat in the end.

This result means Da Nang FC cannot yet be assured of escaping the relegation zone in the V-League standings. They remain second to last with 13 points, and risk returning to the bottom if PVF-CAND wins against Ha Tinh in tomorrow afternoon's match.

Hanoi FC has temporarily moved up to third place, ahead of Ninh Binh (39 points compared to 37). In this round, Ninh Binh will play against The Cong - Viettel.
