Despite playing away from home, PVF-CAND Youth confidently launched attacks and threatened Quang Ninh FC's goal with quick passing and shots. However, the excellent defense of the Quang Ninh team prevented their opponents from achieving their goal of an early offensive.
After a draw in the first half, Quang Ninh Club and PVF-CAND Youth team delivered a goalfest in the second half.
In the 56th minute, Nguyen Chinh Dang scored the opening goal for Quang Ninh Club with a header from a corner kick taken by Bui Long Nhat.
Just two minutes later, in the 58th minute, the team from the mining region extended their lead to 2-0 after a lightning-fast counter-attack. Bui Long Nhat sprinted down the left wing and crossed the ball to Nguyen Van Do, who tapped it in from close range.
In the 77th minute, Quang Ninh FC extended their lead to 3-0 after a baffling mistake by the PVF-CAND Youth team. Despite being pressed by their opponents in their own half, goalkeeper Tong Duc An risked passing the ball forward to Doan Huy Long.
Long Nhật capped off a brilliant performance with a close-range shot, winning the ball and scoring. The shot wasn't particularly difficult, but the PVF-CAND Youth goalkeeper let it slip through his hands easily.
In the 85th minute, PVF-CAND Youth scored to reduce the deficit to 1-3. Foreign player Joseph Khalio headed the ball into the net from inside the penalty area after a cross from Nguyen Thanh Hung on the left wing, beating goalkeeper Ho Van Tu of Quang Ninh.
This was also the final score of the match. This victory helped the team from the mining region break their streak of three consecutive draws and losses (against Long An, Dong Thap , and Quy Nhon United), thereby moving them up to 9th place (out of 12 teams) in the First Division standings with 22 points.
