After a week of exciting competition, Hobby Ace volleyball club suffered a 2-4 defeat against Mintonette Gobi VC in the finals of the Mongolian Women's Volleyball Championship.
According to the tournament format, the final consists of 7 matches, with the team that reaches 4th place first winning. And by the 6th day of competition, Mintonette had already secured the championship one match early.
Mintonette could have won by an even larger margin if it weren't for the brilliant performance of Ly Thi Luyen - famous for being the tallest volleyball player in Vietnam, with a height of up to 1.95m (taller than Thanh Thuy - 1.93m).
According to the Hobby Ace Club fanpage, Ly Thi Luyen shone in the second and fifth matches, helping her team to fiercely chase down their strong opponents.
Earlier, Ly Thi Luyen was voted the best athlete in the semi-final match, when Hobby Ace defeated Khuvsgul Seven Stars with a score of 3-1.
This is a brilliant milestone in the career of this girl from Hung Yen province. Ly Thi Luyen, 26 years old, plays as an outside hitter and was a key player in helping Duc Giang Chemical join the top teams in the Vietnamese Championship. She also contributed to the Vietnamese national team's victory in the AVC Challenge Cup 2023.

Over the past two years, Ly Thi Luyen's performance has somewhat declined, causing her to miss out on a ticket to the 33rd SEA Games. Because of this, she has decided to go abroad at the end of 2025 in the hope of reviving her career.
Ly Thi Luyen easily secured a starting spot on the Hobby Ace team. Not only that, she shone brightly, helping her team make remarkable progress.
Prior to this season, Hobby Ace had gone three consecutive years without finishing in the top 3 of the Mongolian Championship, and had ranked 5th in the previous season. But thanks to the brilliant performance of the 1.95m tall Vietnamese girl, Hobby Ace rose to the runner-up position this season.
With such impressive form, Ly Thi Luyen promises to return to the Vietnamese national team in 2026, contributing to strengthening the team's blocking line.
