Van Kieu student shyly reads 'thank you letter' because she is about to have a 'Happy Home'

On the morning of July 25, the Central Youth Union held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the “Happy House” for Ho Thi Anh Tuyet, a student at Kim Thuy Primary and Secondary Boarding School No. 2 (residing in Trung Doan village, Kim Ngan commune, Quang Tri province). Resources were sponsored by the Vietnam Volunteer Resource Information Center.

On the morning of July 25, the Central Youth Union held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the "Happy House" for Ho Thi Anh Tuyet, a student at Kim Thuy Primary and Secondary Boarding School No. 2 (residing in Trung Doan village, Kim Ngan commune, Quang Tri province). Resources were sponsored by the Vietnam Volunteer Resource Information Center.

Attending the program were Ms. Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Chairman of the Central Council of Young Pioneers; leaders of some professional departments of the Central Youth Union; leaders of the Quang Tri Provincial Youth Union and local people.

Wearing a pair of tattered plastic sandals and worn-out clothes, the scarf on Ho Thi Anh Tuyet's shoulders was still bright red, her eyes were still jet black and sparkling with hope for a new future in a new, happy home.

To read the heartfelt words of gratitude written on just one page, Tuyet, a third grade student, had to spend almost the entire morning… practicing. Her shyness and slurred speech made her clumsiness obvious. But no one at the ceremony blamed her, but instead encouraged her to complete her “speech”.
