The information was given by Mr. Tran Huu Linh - Director of the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) - at the opening ceremony of GO! Thang Long Trade Center of Central Retail Vietnam Group on December 1.

Mr. Tran Huu Linh highly appreciated the continuous business expansion of Central Retail Group in Vietnam, especially when the Government is paying special attention to the domestic market with 106 million consumers.

In that context, shopping malls, supermarkets and convenience stores not only provide products but also guide consumer habits, making an important contribution to economic development.

Therefore, modern commercial infrastructure is considered a strategic pillar, in line with the Strategy for developing the Vietnamese retail market to 2030, with a vision to 2050, which the Prime Minister has just issued.

According to Mr. Tran Huu Linh, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is also about to submit important policies to the Prime Minister. For example, converting nearly 7,000 traditional markets into modern convenience stores and shopping malls.

"This is a strategic move to continue improving commercial infrastructure, enhancing consumer experience and modernizing the retail market. We hope to have more modern shopping mall models, like the system that Central has developed, to contribute to the sustainable development of Vietnam's retail industry," said Mr. Linh.

Mr. Nguyen The Hiep, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, said that the City is implementing the "45-day and night campaign" with a strong direction to promote production and business, boost consumption and services and trade to strive to achieve the growth target of over 8% in 2025.

Accordingly, the Hanoi industry and trade sector is actively implementing many solutions, including expanding the retail system, stimulating consumption, promoting supply-demand connections, and supporting modern distribution channels to participate deeply in market development.

According to Mr. Olivier Langlet, General Director of Central Retail Vietnam Group, GO! Thang Long has a total investment of 650 billion VND, of which more than 200 billion VND is for renovating and upgrading the 35,000 m² space, which is completely renewed from equipment to design, aiming at a convenient, accessible and safe shopping experience for all customers, gathering more than 250 prestigious brands.
