In the last month of the year, many maple forests in Khe Sanh and Huong Phung communes, Quang Tri province, enter the season of changing leaves. The yellow and red leaves in the middle of the Truong Son range create a breathtakingly beautiful scene.

The maple forest grows next to Rao Quan hydroelectric lake. This season, the water level is high and calm, creating a picturesque landscape.

The maple forest is in the transitional season, the leaves gradually change from green to yellow, then orange and red. In early December, in the chilly weather in Quang Tri, the bright red maple leaves appear and disappear among the mist and clouds, creating a magical and captivating scene.

The maple tree (also known as white cross-flowered tree) has the scientific name Liquidambar formosana, emits a fragrant aroma, distributed mainly in Southeast Asian tropical forests. The tree is a woody, perennial tree, 2-10m high, often planted for shade.

Every November and December, many people go to the maple forest to see the changing colors of the leaves. Some people drive their cars and trek together through the hills of maple color. Some people choose to take a boat along the hydroelectric lake to admire the poetic beauty.

Towards the end of the year, the colors and scents of the maple trees become more brilliant, dyeing the hillsides and the calm lakes red. This is also the most ideal time for tourists to come and explore and capture the most beautiful moments of the season of changing leaves in the vast Western region of Quang Tri.

In recent years, the maple forest in western Quang Tri has increasingly attracted the attention of tourists to experience and take photos.

According to many people, the most beautiful time of day of the maple forest is at dawn or dusk.
"Going deep into the forest, there are deep green lawns, interspersed with streams flowing into the lake, which is an ideal place for groups to camp overnight," said Nguyen Bon (35 years old, residing in Khe Sanh commune).

In addition to the journey to explore the maple forest blooming in the fall foliage season, visitors to the hydroelectric lake area in Quang Tri also have the opportunity to admire the wind power fields stretching across the Huong Phung mountain peaks, creating a majestic and impressive scene.

The red and yellow of the maple forest blends with the green of the mountains and forests to create a majestic and poetic natural picture. The scene makes anyone who sets foot there amazed, feeling like they are lost in a land that is both wild and original, yet has the modern breath of wind turbines.

With its wild natural beauty, Western Quang Tri is increasingly attracting many tourists to experience and explore the maple forests in the leaf-changing season.
