At the meeting, representatives of functional agencies, private fishing ports, and owners of fishing service providers frankly acknowledged the limitations, especially the fact that some high-risk fishing vessels that do not meet the conditions are still secretly operating due to the complicity of some fishing ports and private service providers.
To enhance the effectiveness of the fight against IUU fishing, the Sa Ky Port Border Guard Station has requested private fishing ports, owners of seafood purchasing facilities, fuel suppliers, and fishing logistics vessels to make strict commitments. Specifically, these facilities commit not to provide services or purchase products from fishing vessels on the high-risk list or those that do not have the required documents provided by the authorities and the Border Guard.
Facilities must promptly notify local authorities, Border Guard Stations and relevant agencies when detecting fishing vessels violating or showing signs of violating the facility or operating at sea, and must regularly update the list of fishing vessels coming to buy fuel to serve management work.
