Vi Thi Hang continues to be the most talked-about name in the Vietnamese Paralympic swimming team at the 13th ASEAN Para Games. After winning two gold medals and setting a Games record in the first two days of competition, on January 23rd, Vi Thi Hang won another gold medal and broke the record in the women's 100m backstroke, disability category S6-S7. This "golden" hat-trick makes the female swimmer from Ho Chi Minh City the most successful member of the Vietnamese Paralympic team at the Games so far.

Vi Thi Hang won her third gold medal and set a second record at the Games.

While Vi Thi Hang "heated up" the green track, in the extremely quiet sport of chess, Vietnamese athletes with disabilities achieved victories in the standard chess category. Doan Thu Huyen won the individual gold medal in the women's physical disability category and then, together with Tran Thi Bich Thuy and Nguyen Thi Kieu, also won the team gold medal in the same event.

Chess player Tran Ngoc Loan won gold medals in both the individual and team events for women in category B1.

In the B1 disability category, Tran Ngoc Loan won the individual gold medal and, together with Pham Thi Huong and Dao Thi Le Xuan, also won the team gold medal. Similarly, Nguyen Thi Hong achieved a brilliant performance, winning the individual gold medal in the women's B2/B3 category and, together with Nguyen Thi Minh Thu and Nguyen Thi My Linh, also claimed the team championship.

Dao Tuan Kiet won the individual gold medal and the men's team silver medal in the B1 category.

Three "double wins" helped Vietnamese female chess players temporarily gain an advantage over their male counterparts. Dao Tuan Kiet won the gold medal in the men's B1 individual category, but he, along with Dinh Tuan Son and Le Van Viet, only finished second in the team event. The teams of Trinh Huu Dat, Pham Le Anh Kiet, and Nguyen Anh Tan won the bronze medal in the men's B2/B3 team event, while Nguyen Van Quan, Nguyen Anh Tuan, and Duong Hien Vuong finished third in the men's disabled team event.

Continuing to compete in the rapid and blitz chess events in the following days, the Vietnamese Paralympic chess team hopes to continue to shine, contributing to improving the overall medal standings.

The national chess team won 7 standard chess championships.

In athletics, veteran athlete Nguyen Thi Hai won the gold medal in the shot put event, disability category F57. The six silver medals won by the Vietnamese Paralympic athletics team on the third day of competition were thanks to Tran Van Nguyen (men's javelin throw, F40 category), Kieu Minh Trung (men's discus throw, F55 category), Ngo Thi Lan Thanh (women's javelin throw, F55 category); Nguyen Thi Kieu (women's shot put, F57 category), Do Ngoc Thang (men's shot put, F11 category) and Pham Xuan Huy (men's long jump, T46 category).

In table tennis, after defeating his Indonesian opponent 3-1 in the men's singles semi-final in the TT9 disability category, athlete Pham The Tien advanced to the final and faced Kusnanto, a very strong Indonesian player. Although he did not win the historic gold medal after many previous Games, Pham The Tien is still proud to have brought glory to Vietnamese table tennis for people with disabilities in the regional arena.
