Late on January 28, Tran Hoang Kha, 26 years old, from Tra Vinh, drove a tractor carrying 15 prestressed concrete piles, each about 8 meters long, secured with iron chains, on Highway 51 from Phu My town to Ba Ria city.

When arriving at the intersection in Phu My ward, the tractor trailer hit the back of a container truck driven by Mr. Luong Van Binh, 44 years old, from Quang Ngai, traveling in the same direction ahead.

The strong impact caused the concrete pillars to slide forward, crushing Mr. Kha inside the cabin. After 30 minutes, Phu My Town Police used specialized tools to break the door and took the driver to the emergency room with multiple injuries.
