On March 14, social media spread an image of a deer weighing about 120kg appearing on the street in Ho Chi Minh City.
Through verification, the area where the deer appeared is on Rung Sac Street, the section passing Dan Xay Bridge, Can Gio District.
On the evening of March 9, while the deer was eating grass on the side of the road, a resident driving through the area discovered it and used his phone to film it.

Speaking with Dan Tri reporter, representative of Ho Chi Minh City Forest Protection Department said that this unit has received information about deer appearing and this area is managed by Can Gio Forest Protection Department.
According to this person, there are no deer in the wild in Can Gio district. Previously, there were two deer breeding units, including the Can Gio Protective Forest Management Board and the Sac Forest Tourist Area serving visitors.
"During the raising process, the deer must have escaped from its cage, which is why it appeared on the road. This area is like an island, surrounded by rivers and water. Mangrove forests cover most of the area, so there is little food for the deer in the wild. The Dan Xay bridge area has a lot of grass, so the animals come here to find food. This is a common deer breed, not rare," he said.
An officer from the Can Gio Forest Protection Department said that this deer was raised at the Can Gio Forest Protection Management Board and escaped from its cage in 2022. The animal is male, weighing about 120kg. The Can Gio Forest Protection Department is zoning off the area and searching for the deer to recapture it, to avoid endangering traffic on the road.
