Police in Phu Tho province are helping people overcome the consequences of landslides.

On the night of May 19th and the early morning of May 20th, heavy rain in many areas of Phu Tho province caused landslides and the collapse of a house wall, injuring a young child.

Local police are urgently assisting residents after the wall collapse.

According to the Phu Tho Provincial Police, on the night of May 19th, heavy rain and strong winds occurred in Cam Khe commune, causing the collapse of a wall belonging to Mr. Phan Van Thanh (born in 1952), residing in Go Chua area, Cam Khe commune. Mr. Thanh's family is a war veteran with difficult circumstances. The wall fell on two young children, PTL (born in 2022) and PTN (born in 2024), who were sleeping in bed.

The wall collapse resulted in serious injuries to child L and minor injuries to child N. Subsequently, child L was taken by her family to the Cam Khe Regional Medical Center for emergency treatment and then transferred to Phu Tho Provincial General Hospital for further treatment.

Immediately after the incident occurred, upon receiving reports from the public, the Cam Khe Commune Police quickly mobilized 100% of its on-duty forces to the area, coordinating with relevant departments and local forces to provide assistance in transporting the injured to hospitals; cordoning off the dangerous area to ensure safety, assisting in khắc phục hậu quả (mitigating the consequences), actively participating in clearing the collapsed area, and ensuring security, order, and traffic safety at the scene of the incident.

On May 20th, the commune police promptly visited and offered support to Mr. Thanh's family and the two injured children. They also donated 10,000,000 VND to the family to encourage them, share their difficulties, and hope for the children's speedy recovery so they can return to a stable life.

Accordingly, a landslide occurred on the embankment at the intersection between Km 0 + 100 (Provincial Road 316G) and Km 17 + 900 (Provincial Road 316) in Thanh Son commune (Phu Tho province).

Simultaneously, using rudimentary tools and coordinating with local residents and authorities, they urgently cleared the fallen rocks and soil from the road surface, ensuring safe traffic flow.

Forecasting that the weather will remain unpredictable in the coming days, the Traffic Police of Phu Tho province advise people traveling through mountain passes, steep roads, and areas with high embankments to observe carefully, reduce speed, and strictly follow the instructions of the authorities to prevent unfortunate incidents from occurring.
